Dick Grayson
“I get wet at the thought of you. Being a responsible guy”
“Ugh, Dick. This is never gonna get fucking done, and now I have to go to work,” you groan. You had recently moved in with Dick and his apartment looked more like a storage facility. Boxes with your stuff occupied every inch of space. To make it worse, you and Dick went furniture shopping and it all arrived at once. Between your job and Dick’s night time activities, it felt like you weren’t any closer to being moved in. The longer this went on, the worse your anxiety got. Dick watches you begin to spiral and walks over. He pulls you into his arms and places a gentle kiss to the crown of your head. He uses his hands to rub soothing circles on your back.
“Relax baby, I’ll take care of it. You go to work, have a good day, and I’ll see you when you come home okay?” Dick says softly. You take another look at the mess that surrounded you. Sighing, you give Dick a kiss before grabbing your work bag and keys before heading out the door.
When you get off, you pause before sliding your key in the door. You close your eyes and take a deep breath, preparing yourself for what you were about to walk into. Work was fine, but you had been dreading coming home all day. “Small wins,” you whisper to yourself before putting the key in the lock, and opening the door. When you get inside, your jaw drops. The apartment you were standing in, was not the one that you left this morning. The boxes are gone, the new furniture standing proudly in its place. Your feet are stuck to their spot on the floor when Dick emerges out from the bedroom.
“Hi, my love. When did you get home? How was work?” He asks while pressing a kiss to your shocked lips.
“Dick. What the hell is this? What happened to all my stuff?” You ask, ignoring his previous questions and looking at him in disbelief.
“Well, I know how stressed you were about how much there was left to do, so I did it. Figured I got nothing better to do while you are at work, might as well make your life easier. I unpacked all your stuff, built the new couch along with the rest of the new furniture. The only thing I didn’t unpack was your clothes and your bathroom stuff. I know you are particular about where your things go, so I wanted to wait for you to get home. But, if you tell me what to do, we can get it done together,” Dick explains. You continue to stand there speechless. The amount of care, though, effort, and consideration that went into Dick doing this makes your heart swell. You don’t know many guys who would do that for their girlfriends. When you finally come to your senses, you pull Dick into a searing kiss.
Dick is initially taken by surprise, but melts into your kiss easily. You slip your tongue into Dick’s mouth, and you two makeout right there in the middle of your living room. When Dick realizes your door is still wide open, he pulls away to close it. “Babe, not that I’m complaining, but where did that come from?” He questions, placing your key in the bowl by the door. When he looks up, you are walking to the bedroom, your shirt and pants already off.
“You gonna keep asking questions or you gonna join me in the bedroom?” You ponder, with a quick glance over your shoulder. Dick shuts his mouth immediately, stumbling to try and catch up with you.
Jason Todd
“My house is on pretty girl avenue. My house was especially built for you”
You knew what you were doing when you put this dress on. You and Jason had a long standing date night you did at least once a month. The goal was always to do more, but, sometimes life got in the way. Each month, you both agreed to a day on the calendar. No excuses or cancellations were allowed. Regardless of how busy you two had been, you had at least one day where you were completely focused on each other. It became a way for you both to show up for each other in spite of your chaotic lives.
This month especially, you were looking forward to your date with Jason. Gotham was crazier than normal, which kept you and Jason occupied. You had not spent nearly enough time together, but tonight was going to change that. In honor the evening, you were pulling out the big guns. Jason, with Bruce’s help, secured a reservation at a steakhouse you have been dying to try. It was nearly impossible to secure a table at this place, the waitlist going into next year. The occasion called for a new dress. You picked out a red number that hugged you everywhere it was supposed to. Jason would tell you how gorgeous you were in whatever you wore. But a new dress, in his favorite color nonetheless, would inspire just the reaction you were looking for.
Jason was waiting patiently for you on the couch. His version of being “dressed up,” he wore slacks and the only button up shirt he owned. When you were done with your makeup, you told him to wait in the living room while you got dressed. Even after you told him it was a surprise, he grumbled his way to the couch. He loved watching you get ready, and hated when you banished him. When Jason hears the sound of the bedroom door opening, he pops up excitedly. Turning around to look at you, his jaw drops.
“By that reaction, I’m guessing you love it,” you say, walking over to Jason and wrapping your arms around his neck. Jason collects himself while his hands make purchase on your hips. He gives them a reassuring squeeze before that signature smirk comes across his face. He leans down to press slow kisses along your neck.
“Oh I don’t just like it, I fucking love it,” he all but growls in your ear, making you giggle. “Fuck babe, I should rip this off you right now. Bend you over the couch a-,“ Jason starts, but you back away from him. He watches you walk toward the front door, a smile still on your face.
“I see our imaginations are active tonight. C’mon Jace, we have been looking forward to this all month. And, when we get home, you can have me all to yourself,” you tease. You grab your purse and dangle the keys for Jason to take. His smile matches yours as he walks over to you. He snatches the keys and gives you a quick kiss.
“You are lucky you’re so gorgeous.”
Bruce Wayne
“He’s like the rest, so fine and so deceiving. There’s nobody’s son, not anyone left for me to believe in”
“Bruce, are you seriously doing this again?” You ask, arms crossed. When Bruce asked you to meet him at his office that usually meant one of two things. He had sudden free time in the day and was going to take you to lunch. Or, you were gonna put his sound proof walls to work. Today, Bruce decided to change it up by breaking up with you. Again.
He shrugs nonchalantly like he was deciding what he wanted for dinner. “I just think we need a break. I don’t wanna continue to lead you on if I feel like I’m not emotionally invested in this relationship. It isn’t fair to you or myself,” he explains, not even bothering to stand up from his desk. You scoff and shake your head in disbelief. You slide your sunglasses from the top of your head to back on your face. It made you feel powerful and confident, but also masked the tears that threatened to fall from your eyes. You walked up to his desk, leaning over it so you could get in his face.
“You are so lucky you look like that. Because, if you didn’t, not a woman in the world would fall for your bullshit,” you spit. “Fuck you Bruce. I’ll talk to you in a week when you change your mind, again, like you always fucking do.” The last time Bruce had “broken up” with you, he was calling you again two days later. Sobbing and saying how badly he fucked up and needed you back. For the moment, you were content with going home, drowning in pints of ice cream, and rethinking the life choices that led you here.
You spent all week waiting expectantly from the text from Bruce. Instead you got radio silence. Maybe this would be the first week he exhibited self control.
Wally West
“Save your money, and stop makin’ me cry. You tell me that you want me, but baby if you need me”
“I’m trying here baby, I promise I am. Just tell me what do” Wally begs you. The man is on his knees before you as you pinch the bridge of your nose.
“I’ve told you Wallace, I’ve told you multiple times! I don’t need flowers or gifts or your promises that you are gonna do something. I need you to actually do it. You don’t show up for me Wally. And I know you have responsibilities, I’m not asking you to stop saving the world. But if you want me to be girlfriend, you are gonna have to start treating me like more of a priority. If you say you’re gonna do something, than fucking do it,” you state. You cross your arms across your chest and look down at Wally. You cannot count how many times you have had this exact conversation with Wally. Similar to all the previous times, Wally nods in understanding.
“I get it, I get it. I swear to you babe I will. I’m gonna keep trying until I get it right, I promise you. I love and care for you so much baby,” Wally confesses, but you can’t help but to roll your eyes.
“Wally, I’ve heard this speech verbatim. It is getting to the point where it is almost played out. How do I know this time will be any different?” You ask. Wally uncrosses your arms so he can take your hands in his. He squeezes them and presses kisses to both sides.
“This is my last chance. If I don’t get it together now, you have the full right to break up with me. I won’t beg, plead, argue, anything. I’ll let you walk right out the door because you deserve to be with someone who appreciates you. Just, please baby. One last chance.” When you look down into those blue green eyes, it makes it so hard to keep your resolve. He looks like a damn puppy, looking up at you with those glassy eyes and that pout. How are you supposed to stay mad at that?
“One chance Wallace,” you state, and watch the relief take over Wally’s body. He shoots up like a fire cracker and pulls you into a tight hug. You poke him in the chest which causes him to look at you. “So help me god Wally. If you fuck up again, that’s it, I’m done. Like you said, if you fuck up I’m walking out, and you’re gonna let me. Got it?” You question and Wally nods obediently. Then, he picks you up so he can spin you in the air. You can’t help the laughs that bubble past your lips.
Roy Harper
“Goodbye, means that you’re losing me for life”
The knock on your door had you getting up from the sofa. Tonight, you were getting ready to enjoy some terrible reality television, eat crappy take out, and drink a few sweet glass of wine. You grab cash out of your purse to tip your driver, but when you open the door, Roy is standing there instead. You groan and he takes the opportunity to walk into your apartment with your takeout.
“Roy, are you shitting me right now? Where the fuck is my delivery driver, why the fuck do you have my food, and why the fuck are you bothering me right now?” You question all at once. Roy sits on your couch and opens your bag to investigate what you got.
“Stopped him on my way up. Figured it was yours. I paid him and everything. Isn’t that kind of me?” He says to you. Before he can open any containers, you walk over and snatch it away from him. You open your food excitedly as you feel Roy watching you expectantly.
“If you think paying for my takeout is gonna make me get back together with you, you are fucking mistaken.” You say in between bites. Roy groans and sits back against the couch. “You broke up with me Roy. If we’re being honest, you did me a fucking favor,” you laugh dryly. “You literally couldn’t even say you fucking loved me. There are absolutely zero benefits of getting back together with you.”
“Okay, but I’m sure we could work something out. We don’t have to be complete strangers. You don’t have to pretend like I don’t exist. I’d still like to see you,” Roy smirks while looking at you. The sexual undertones of what he was implying do not go past you. Pretending to gag, you finally spare a look in Roy’s direction.
“You don’t get to have your cake and fuck it it too Roy. We broke up. We are done, finished. Sayonara asshole. If you shut the fuck up, I’ll allow you sit on my couch.” you reply and flip Roy off. Based on the way he scowls at you, that wasn’t the reaction he wanted or expected. He gets up and leaves, slamming the door behind him. You snuggle into your couch again, enjoying not only your dinner, but hopefully your Roy free life.
