block out or don't read comments sections (this one is hard - but really helps)
when you see a post you like (especially art or fics) - yap in the reblogs about what you liked about it! this will guaranteed make an artist happy, and makes you happy as you appreciate it :D

this is primarily geared towards visual artists - which not everyone is! all resources are free :D
practice figure drawing with a site like line of action
draw fanart of someone's OC (they'll love it)

do some drawing from photography off of pexels
learn about perspective with drawabox (not for the feint of heart, but good if you're up for it)
draw or make some OCs
try a new art style
try a new medium or art program (may i recommend... krita? (free, desktop only, sadly))
whimsy without limits
these activities are more focused on the real world than the digital zone - and may be a bit trickier to do for that reason
collect forgotten objects, or other things that you can easily find like rocks
explore your area - even if you live in the suburbs - map it out on paper :)

Uh okay so I wanted to ramble about how gay the original Sherlock Holmes books were (specifically Hound of the Baskervilles) but it got super long and I don't want to clog up people's feeds so big old rant below the cut :0
Okay I don't know anything about the Sherlock series fandom and if its still alive or if it only exists on the depths of Pinterest anymore but I've been reading some of the original Sherlock Holmes adventures and wow. Years back I watched the first few episodes and I've encountered fanart a lot on Pinterest but I always thought it just sort of came from a modern person seeing two roommates and being like "oh hey what if..."
no. no they were so unbelievably gay back in what? 1902? I read through the Hound of the Baskervilles and like most of the books it's written in 1st person by Watson and the book opens with Sherlock in his gay ass bathrobe smoking a cigar in their apartment and testing Watson on what he's learned from observing him work. And then Watson spends the next bit just talking about how amazing and strong and handsome and genius he is in a way that can only be described as a homoerotic.
And then there's a case that comes up and Sherlock sends Watson off to deal with it because "I know you and I know that you are strong and capable and brave and you can do this I trust you" and Watson's like "no please I don't want to be away from your side I don't know nearly as much as you" but eventually does as he's told and investigates a bunch and it's really super good but we can skim over that
but Watson figures out that there's a mysterious figure that's been living in one of the ancient abandoned huts in the moor that the mystery is set around (this really big marshy plain and it's all dreary and mysterious and foggy and people keep dying there)
So he goes to investigate the hut and finds it empty with all this camping stuff and ends up hiding in the shadows with his gun cocked, waiting for whoever has been living there to return. And he hears footsteps. then they stop. he hears the figure sit down outside, then he hears a voice
"It is a lovely evening, my dear Watson, I really think that you would be more comfortable outside than in" <- direct quote
and Watson is beaming and writing about how he looked so handsome exactly like he remembered (it's been about a month since they separated btw) and asks Holmes how he knew it was him and Holmes is just "of course I recognized that the brand of the cigarette butt outside was the exact one that you always get from this super specific store" and then he talks about how amazing Watson is and how smart and brave he had been
and they go skipping off to actually finish solving the case and they stop the murders and the murderer and there's a lot of action and Watson is super cool with his pistol and then the book ends with Watson and Holmes hanging out at home with their client who they saved all just having a grand old time
There's so many things I don't have time to talk about like how Holmes exclusively calls Watson, "My dearest Watson" or the fact that they, multiple times, have these really charged moments that I literally cannot manage to interpret as platonic trust me I've tried.
Anyways this ended up so much longer than I was intending but yeah that was one of the main things going through my head while reading this book and I feel like I'm not even mentioning 70% of it.
TLDR: Sherlock and Watson were a gay married couple back in 1902 and still are today.
