apart of this musical training/ studying is continuous reaching

i came across this perspective, when alex began telling me how he was exercising with christian in the park, learning martial arts movements. he described them throwing fists and limbs at one another, aiming, however, there was no contact, only reaction - slow reaction. they were training their instincts and muscles to react immediately, so to not take up energy and keep their minds clear to focus on offence. training takes patience. studying this album is much the same. we sit here (mel and i) in the moment, with each song, we are in our own minds distracted, and the music becomes a part of our mind. what i see, i see with this song. i feel. (2:04 am) we allow the music to become naturalized, so when we begin to dip deeper, we can react to the sounds that support the lyrics, making the rhythms unique, and how each note connects, building waves, crashing with relaxation . . just to take us further. my shoulders melt (2:06am).
