I have known Anggun since I was a kid, yet I never really know who she was until in 2007. It was when I took part in a French riddle contest which made me learn many things about France, like its culture, its geography, its art, music, and so on. And then, I discovered one of Anggun’s French songs, Derrière la Porte―which turned to be one of my first French most favorite songs―from album Desirs Contraires (2000), and I just fell in love with her. All about her; her music, her voice. And in 2007, YouTube was not as widely popular as right now. It was not that easy get and find out her international songs, especially the French ones. As I also learn French, by knowing her just makes me feel want to speak French so bad. Why? Well, first, she was an Indonesian, just like me. She had no idea about French before, but she managed to be a successful singer in France, speaking French fluently, and that is awesome!
Anggun, in my opinon, is a very very great woman. I adore her so much. And Indonesia should be proud of her and I don’t have to explain why. She’s very humble, she’s very nice, and I don’t know, she’s just the best! Anggun really motivates me to improve my French. I always lover her French songs, I got her French songs on my playlist.
