Side note, but this is also partially the reason why I’ve had such a hard time engaging with a lot of anti-punitive justice posts on here. I’ve experienced some awful shit, namely an incident that happened when I was 11 where a group of my classmates ganged up on me and attacked me because they thought I was ‘annoying’, like it seriously traumatized me and even though it’s been over a decade I STILL hate them for it. It still angers me that they were never punished (I went to a Christian school and they had a very ‘forgive and forget’ approach to conflict resolution) and there have been times I’ve thought about confronting them even though I know they probably don’t even remember it or feel any guilt at all. So when I first started engaging with the concept of restorative justice, I felt like such a horrible awful person for still carrying anger over something that happened when I was a kid while all these other people had been through hell and didn’t want the people who hurt them to face any punishment.

We’re using the same word to refer to two different things. There’s men (gender) and men (class).

Trans men are men (gender). Cis men are men (gender). -> Cis men are included in men (class). Trans men aren’t because the patriarchy doesn’t recognize trans men as men. -> Being a member of men (class) is what gives you male privilege and the power that comes with it.
