Pokemon: Legends Arceus AU: PsyShocked
With the Hoenn roots in P:LA, (a Wally ancestor is all I'm using as base for this, also the twins angst idea because I want the Submas boys to be happy together for a bit) it's only natural that a Hoennite may be pulled through the rift instead of someone from Unova. Though, Unova has more roots there; so, either could work really. We've already seen a Unovan in the form of Ingo appearing. But, what if he hadn't?
Instead of Ingo, we reintroduce Tate and Liza. We send Tate away, to be accepted into the Pearl Clan and be the Pearl Warden of the Coronet Highlands.
We make Sneasler get used as a trial for the Lake Spirits instead of Hisuian Goodra, or even we make a new Hisuian variant from Pokemon that live in the area such as Rhyperior, Gliscor, Yanmega, possibly Toxicroak? Anything in the area will do, even if it's a brand new evolution entirely instead of a new form.
For this example, let's make a new form of Bronzong. We make him look older, maybe not made of metal to fit the theme of Lord Electrode. Instead of a backpack, there's a slit in Hisuian Bronzong's body that shows the eyes in the back, and you hide inside it while it levitates, or maybe climbs still, its way up cliffs. The core concept is still there, but it's new and fits Tate and Liza's themes.
Now, we need a team for Tate. Tate's team is usually designed for double battles, so while he may be single normally, he can open a training area to introduce the concept more formally than Ingo did. His core team may change slightly from pure psychic, but have similar ideas of psychic such as ghost Pokemon and dark Pokemon. He will also need a Pokemon to resemble something about Liza, like Gliscor and Emmet sharing a permanent smile. I will be pulling from both the Coronet Highlands and the Alabaster Icelands due to him being in the Pearl Clan and having to had been to their village at least once.
What I've come up with for his team goes as follows: Froslass - The way her sleeves fall and the way she smiles mischievously reminds Tate of... someone. Someone who looks like him. He feels connected to this person. But she disappears whenever he wakes up. Bronzong - It feels familiar, and he knows all the moves it can learn. He just, doesn't feel as connected to it. As if something's wrong. It has low friendship due to this disconnect. This will be changed to a Gallade should I use Bronzong as the Lord. Gallade functions the same as Bronzong would. Alakazam - Once again, he knows all the moves an Alakazam can learn, but not to the same extent. He has always felt he can understand psychic types, and when he can hold conversations with Alakazam all in his head, he feels a tad more complete. He doesn't know it's impossible normally to communicate like this. Lucario - It's aura compels him. It's friendly with him and he feels as though watching Lucario fight is teaching him to control- something- he can do. Something that's not normal. Almost aura-like in nature. Umbreon - While you may think Espeon is the obvious choice here, Umbreon seems to fit him better as a person. It's accustomed to the dark, knowing it's way around better than anyone. Tate could always feel his surroundings better than he could see them. It also gets its power from the moon, something he finds himself staring at quite often. He can almost see something when it's in it's crescent shape. As if it were alive and important to him. Luna... Moon Stone maybe? Something. (Eevee is available in the Alabaster Icelands) Clefable - The way it watches the Moon and dislikes being seen are both reasons he connects to this Pokemon. On rough nights when Tate is haunted by dreams of his mysterious doppelganger, he sits and watches the Moon in silence with his large pink companion. He doesn't feel like he's at his best, like he can never really get back to being what he was. He can't remember it well, but he knows he's different now. And that scares him.
He doesn't want anyone from his missing past to see him in such a state. He'd rather run away and hide than face his fears. He wants to be a Warden. He wants to live with the Pearl Clan. He doesn't want to leave. So why does he feel so guilty, so afraid? Who did he leave behind? How much of himself is gone with them?
And that's my concept for the PsyShocked AU! If you like it, please let me know, along with any suggestions. I will be working on polishing this, designing people and Pokemon, and eventually posting what happens, most likely in written form on both Tumblr and Ao3! Please come again, and remember to keep rocking <3
