Smart and beautiful sister of a stupid brother

"Gross!! Why would I ever say such a thing!?"

She honestly didn't remember ever telling her brother she wanted to marry him, but whether that was true or not... how DARE he even say something so embarassing out loud? Did he want to get kicked in the face that badly?

"And look, you're the one who's always talking about Riki. Are you sure you're not the one who likes him??"

Though at first she didn't reject the hug, she was now finding it hard to breath given how tight Kyousuke was holding her. Needless to say, her efforts to pull back were completely unsuccessful.

Okay, maybe she was being a bit too harsh on his brother and he didn't deserve that. 

Alas, cruel world Rin.

" We should set a date" Komari turned off the mixer and grabbed the bowl with the mixture then sets it down on the table. She then took out the pans to which the cake would be molded into and started pouring the batter into it evenly.

The petite blonde turned to glance to the side- the place where Rin stood. ” Ah but I wouldn’t want to impose on you. If your too busy I could ask Natsume-senpai or Riki-kun instead.” She giggled and shrugged. ” I imagine Kud-chan and Haruka-chan might want your help too”

Komari stopped mid-way, a couple of batter falling from the spatula she’s using and into the pan. Speaking of Kyousuke and Riki…made her remember something a few girls had been talking about. ” Hey Rin-chan…Natsume-senpai and Riki-kun…are very close to one another aren’t they?”

"Hah..." A nervous laugh escaped Rin's mouth as she heard the others might want her help too. Sigh. She realized it was too stressful for her to continue talking about it so it was better to drop the subject here once and for all.

Instead, she tried to think of something to say in response to what Komari had just asked. The answer to that was actually pretty obvious.  "Yeah, they get along very well with each other. It's always been like this ever since Riki joined us back then..." It was indeed no secret that Riki and Kyousuke were really close to each other - and now, after everything that had happened, more than ever. Rin wondered why Komari would ask something like that out of the blue, then she remembered something.

"Ah but now that I think about it... The other day Kurugaya and Mio were talking about Kyousuke and Riki too." Kurugaya's malicious smile and Mio's blushing face in particular were still fixed in Rin's mind. "Apparently they were saying something about... catching and pitching... but it didn't sound like they were referring to baseball...? I even asked them what they meant but they refused to explain." She let out an annoyed groan.

"Rin! At last, I have found you! Come and give your Onii-san a hug!"

The blonde, having temporarily forgotten about what the heck Rin could have said but was unable to hear because of the noisy mixer, moved towards the end of the counter to separate the butter and cream cheese from the other ingredients.

"Ah oh yeah Rin-chan, could you teach me how to ski?I don’t really know how, and I’m a bit embarrassed to ask help from the others" Komari rambled on, oblivious to her best friend’s plight. "Rin-chan is really athletic after all. I’m sure Rin-chan would look really graceful and cool while skiing!"

How humiliating! She had to admit she had no idea how to skii after all... there was no other choice. But... Komari had such a cute look on her face right now! And her compliments were so flattering!Aand she looked so excited and eager to learn! And Rin would've made such a good impression on her if she were to show her her athletic skills! How could she ever refuse her request and let her down?

...No, no, no. Rin shook her head. That was wrong. She couldn't lie to her best friend like that. So she gathered all her courage and started speaking again.

"Actually... Komari-chan..."

Okay, Rin, you got this. You have to tell her the truth. She nodded to herself, took a deep breath and stared right into Komari's eyes.

"Obviously... I'll be very happy to teach you!!"
