@ Knitting Factory Brooklyn 361 Metropolitan Ave., BK ———————————————————————————————————————- Borahm Lee Borahm Lee makes up one-half of the electronic duo Break Science. His chops as a keyboard player are undeniable, but he flexes his skills way beyond the keys. His live-sampling trip-hop-meets-dub fuses with musical partner Adam Deitch’s breakbeat-style drumming — and the crowd goes wild. The pair met when Deitch was collaborating with Wyclef Jean, and Lee was working with Lauryn Hill. With their synergy and flow, it’s no surprise they’ve played such packed festivals as Electric Zoo, Electric Forest, and Camp Bisco. Before starting his own band, Lee played keys with superstars like Kanye West, Lauryn Hill and Matisyahu. https://soundcloud.com/break-science https://soundcloud.com/borahm-lee Technicolor Lenses Technicolor Lenses brings an impeccable synergy of live hip-hop and bassy dance grooves with rapping and intelligent lyricism, guaranteed to make the dance floor move while waking up the world with powerful songs. Band members include rapper lyricist Jackson Whalan, producer/guitarist Sam Eckstein (Esseks), drummer Brandon Lewis, and vocalist/percussionist Carmen Estevez. All four members produce electronic beats together, and on stage they infuse their live elements to add special flavor to their collaboration. https://soundcloud.com/technicolor-lenses Weekend Money Weekend Money, compromised of aforementioned NYC/Philly MC Ne$$ (member of Dead Prez affiliated group A-Alikes) and Brooklyn by way of Iraq producer/vocalist Baghdaddy, aren’t the first to cite the city of New York as a major influence on their work. New York has it’s fair share of acts in a flourishing hip hop scene, but the duo are a perfect example of New York’s multicultural melting pot and their music is no different. Weekend Money’s debut EP, Naked City, is a contagious blend of underground hip hop, ‘hood street swagger and spaced out beats that play like a diary of a NYC hustler touching on his experiences and thoughts and revealing both the glamour and grime of the city https://soundcloud.com/weekendmoney Esseks Esseks (Sam Eckstein) is a Brooklyn based producer and artist who creates emotionally driven electronic music and visual art. His music is influenced by a variety of styles from J Dilla inspired hip-hop beats, melodic bass, house and even blues and swing. The diverse elements of his music are tied together with Esseks’ subtle but instantly recognizable sonic landscape. Since the release of his first solo effort Hair and Nails in April 2012, Esseks has shared the stage with range of artists including Ott & The All-Seeing I, An-Ten-Nae, EXMAG, D.V.S*, Govinda, Branx, Skytree, Phutureprimitive and Space Jesus. https://soundcloud.com/esseks
