Van der Spek Meet Up - Preparation

A long time ago, in a land far away (actually, in February, and from France), Steve Morton posted on the Philofaxy blog about the Van der Spek meet up 2016. As soon as I saw the dates I checked my Filofax and realised I could go, I checked flights to see if it was affordable, and then promptly created about 40 different reminders (half digital, half analog), to remind myself to send Steve the email at the right time. The morning of the 20th of February dawned, and I was ready. Laptop in my lap, Filofax on my right, and my iPad showing Time.is, counting up second by second on my left. At precisely 9am I sent the email and waited. Steve didn't reply immediately (and being ever so slightly crazy, I fetched my emails multiple times in various apps and the browser) so I assumed he was snowed under a pile of emails and got on with my weekly planner review. Thankfully Steve got back to me just as I finished my review, and confirmed I had a place. So, what happens when you get a chance to go visit the Van der Spek workshop? Well, if you're me, you start by making a few lists.

Things to do before I go

Not that many lists, but each one very important. Before I went out to meet a friend for lunch I'd already booked my flights, planned travel to the airport, and started a packing list. In less than 2 days I will be in Rotterdam, and in 3 days I will be inside the Van der Spek workshop (hopefully not changing my shopping list too much!). I plan to take lots of pictures and post them here!

What planner am I using right now?

I see this question on the Philofaxy Facebook group very frequently, however my "current planner usage" rarely changes! I have 3 main planners I use:

Pocket Violet Temperley (purse/wallet)

Personal Purple Malden (main planner)

A5 Purple Malden (reference/uni/desk planner).

So, what do they look like on the inside? First up, the Violet Temperley. The card holders and slip pockets came from Japan. Please forgive the zoo card - I didn't really want to show the whole internet my bank card ;). [gallery ids="30,34,38,"] Now, the personal purple Malden - my (slightly battered) workhorse. [gallery ids="42,46,57,"] Finally, the beautiful A5 purple Malden. [gallery ids="58,62,66"] So, that's a quick overview of my three main planners - I plan (haha) to share some of the other planners I'm currently using (and ones I'm using regularly) plus more in depth views of each of these very soon! Filofax saves the day! I was drawing a table whilst doing a homework with friends, but my 15cm ruler I keep in my pencil case was too short! (Cue dramatic music!) However, I realised that my Filofax also has a ruler in, which marks 1mm longer than the height of the Filofax personal pages - perfect for my table.
