A cis friend of ours–with our help–made a GoFundMe for the two of us to help pay for both of our top surgeries in the future! :D

“My two friends, who are both very dear to me, are in need of an important surgery that will change their lives by helping them feel more comfortable with themselves and live life with confidence. They are both transgender men who suffer from gender and body dysphoria and face many forms of discrimination everyday whether in real life or on the internet and are currently high school seniors who are ready to graduate and leave for college. I wish to help them in any way I can and so I am making this Go Fund Me in their favor.

This fundraiser is an estimate to help pay for both of their surgeries altogether, any travel expenses needed, and any potential medical bills that may occur afterwards. While there may be other surgeries that are of interest to the both, they are currently prioritizing a subcutaneous mastectomy which is a removal of both breasts and masculinizing the chest. Both of my friends have been desiring this opportunity for years and have been trying to save up for it little by little, even if all they could save up was from allowance or from selling baked goods legally in public spaces. They are both unable to work due to school and will be in an even larger financial crisis when they have to experience adult responsibility in college. Because of their soon graduation–one of them also facing general financial struggle as a whole–they cannot save up for everything that they need as they have to prioritize their studies and preparations for college. My two friends are severely self conscious of their appearance due to their body dysphoria to the point of having alarming issues with mental health and feeling the need of certain surgeries to feel comfortable in their own bodies. They both already live as if they’re walking on eggshells, just to be seen as the men they identify as, forcing themselves to act differently all because of their dysphoria. This surgery will lessen these worries and give them a sense of pride in their identities, I want them to flourish in life despite what others may say or believe.

Because of the issues they have felt within themselves and not receiving much glaring support throughout most of their transition journeys, they have taken the role within themselves to serve as leaders for the LGBTQ+ community within their high school despite it being their last year in this school. In just a few months, they have motivated students and staff around them to be more welcoming and respectful to one another and expand their responsibilities just to create a safe space for everyone alike. Because of the hard-working effort and help they have provided for everyone in the school, me and many other friends and family of these two would love to see them finally being confident and happy with themselves by giving back to them in the form of helping pay for their surgeries.

These surgeries that they desire cost on average $9k each, and my friends would greatly appreciate any and all donations to their causes–no matter how small.“
