Hiii sorry for the 40000 years late answer I wanted to answer this with an artwork but lost love for it, so you only get text lols

Megatron is an Avatar of the Dark, for two main reasons. The first one is that hés the biggest, baddest, most terrifying foe in most continuities. He's the monster under the bed, something from stories, much like the Dark, he's old and omnipresent, his very existence is a horror story.

But I feel like part of the fear he inspires comes from how he presents himself ! In mtmte, which is the main inspiration for this AU, he's a much more vicious, manipulative, secretive person than, say, in G1. He leads from the Dark. He's always in the shadows.

Also who on the Lost Light would be infected by what entitie? I guess technically almost everyone on the LL hung around with Rung (Primus) so he'd probably have dealt with most of the infection, but maybe there is a resurgence in the other universe as the infection desperately tries to keep itself alive and becomes active before being wiped out? Due to no longer having a connection to the original entities.

As for who's infected by what, I'm still working on the AU so I don’t have everyone down. The ones I do have are : Rodimus (The Desolation), Megatron (The Dark), Minimus (The Buried), Drift (The Slaugher) and Ratchet (also the Slaughter but a different flavour). I'm working on illustrations for each of them :)

As for how the infection survives in a new universe, I had pretty much the same thought as you. A virus has to survive somehow...

Seriously though,

I've always conceptualized the tma entities as a mix between god and disease, so that's how they are in this AU. That is to say, Rodimus is infected with the desolation. To continue with the disease analogy, that infection can, and will spread.

There are also aggravating factors that make the Lost Light an absolute clusterfuck of Fear activity : as you said, proximity and familiarity with human media, but also confinement within a small community, crazy shit happening all the time, and the fact that Rodimus is not the only one on the ship dealing with an Entity. Ratchet, Megatron, Drift, and Blaster to only name a few, also came on board being actively consumed by their respective patrons.

Anyway I think Rodimus deserves to experience the bot equivalent of emergence delirium. I can totally picture him complimenting Ratchet’s shoulders and proposing to Drift. Before they are even together. Teehee.

Rodimus is clingy as all hell. He didn't pay much mind to physical contact before but then he got with them and it changed his brain chemistry (processor chemistry ?). He quite literally doesn't sleep, sit or rest on inanimate surfaces anymore, Drift and Ratchet have become living pillows. Drift is also very physically affectionate (also bity), but his behavior oscillates between Roddy level and normal level. Ratchet isn't really in search of physical touch most time but he surrenders to his fate as the object of his conjunxes affections.

As for how they get together, my usual favourite flavor is Dratchet being conjunxed post Lost Light 25 and Rodimus being like : "so awesome guys! I'm so happy for you!".
