SUMMARY // A late-night video call reminds Rin and his partner that, despite the distance, their love remains the anchor that keeps them connected and hopeful for their reunion.
CONTENTS // drabble, fluff, sfw, long distance relationship. requested by @momoriii-i !!
The video call connects, and Itoshi Rinâs face appears on the screen. His expression is stoic as always, but the way his eyes soften when they meet yours makes the distance feel a little smaller. You can see the faint shadows under his eyes, remnants of exhaustion heâll never admit to.
âYou look tired,â you say, leaning back against your pillows. His hotel room is dimly lit, the curtains drawn, and the faint hum of city traffic buzzes in the background. Itâs late where he is, almost midnight, but knowing Rin, heâs probably spent the day pushing his body to its limits.
âItâs nothing,â he replies, running a hand through his dark, damp hair. âTraining was just⌠long.â
âYou need to rest,â you murmur, a hint of exasperation in your tone. âYou push yourself too much.â
âIâm fine,â he says, his voice steady, as if that alone will convince you. Then, almost imperceptibly, his expression softens. His gaze lingers on the screen, his voice quieter when he speaks again. âI miss you.â
The words are rare and precious, like a secret only youâre allowed to hear. You can feel your heart swell, and a lump forms in your throat.
âI miss you too,â you whisper. The words feel heavy, weighted by the thousands of miles between you. Itâs not enoughânever enoughâbut itâs all you can say through the screen.
A moment of silence stretches between you, not awkward, but filled with the quiet ache of longing. Heâs not one for big gestures or endless conversations, but youâve learned to read between the lines with Rin. The way his eyes linger on yours, the slight tilt of his head, the tension in his shouldersâall of it speaks louder than words.
âWhatâs it like there?â you ask, your voice soft. You want to hear about his day, about the world heâs living in, even if it feels so far removed from your own.
He glances to the side, out the window, where neon lights flicker against the night sky. âBusy. Loud. I donât like it.â His lips twitch, almost into a smile. âBut it doesnât matter.â
âWhy not?â
âBecause itâs not home.â
Your breath catches, and for a moment, you forget the ache of missing him. âHome,â you echo, warmth blooming in your chest.
He looks back at you, his expression steady but his eyes so full of meaning it makes your heart ache. âHome is where you are.â
The screen blurs as your eyes well up, but you blink the tears away, smiling despite the knot in your chest. âRinâŚâ
âI mean it,â he says, his voice low and sure. âOnce this seasonâs over, Iâll come home. To you.â
You nod, your smile trembling but genuine. âIâll be waiting.â
The call continues, the minutes stretching into hours as you talk about nothing and everything. And though the distance remains, every word exchanged, every glance shared, makes it feel a little less daunting.
Because home isnât just a placeâitâs the person waiting for you at the end of the journey.

SUMMARY // A quiet library study session turns sweetly distracting as you tease Rin, whose soft reactions reveal just how much he enjoys your presence.
CONTENTS // drabble, fluff
The library was quiet, save for the soft scratching of pens on paper and the occasional muffled cough. You sat across from Itoshi Rin, your textbooks spread haphazardly while his were meticulously organized. He was absorbed in his notes, brows furrowed in concentration, a faint crease forming between them.
"You know," you whispered, leaning on your palm, "you're kind of cute when you're this serious."
Rin didn't look up, but you saw the faintest twitch at the corner of his lipsâhis version of a smile.
"Focus," he muttered, flipping a page with precision.
"But I am focused," you teased, your eyes fixed firmly on him instead of your notes.
He sighed, finally looking up. His teal eyes pierced through you, but they softened almost immediately. "If you fail because you're too busy staring at me, donât blame me."
You grinned, leaning forward on the table. "I won't. Iâll just say my boyfriend is too distracting."
Rin shook his head, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. "Idiot," he murmured, returning to his notes. But you noticed how his pace slowed, and the corner of his mouth lifted just slightly higher.
For the next hour, you both sat thereâhim diligently studying, you pretending to do the sameâcontent in the quiet rhythm of each otherâs company.

SUMMARY // Saeâs cool demeanor crumbles as he quietly revels in the sight of you wearing his jersey, a simple yet undeniable reminder that youâre his.
CONTENTS // drabble, fluff. wc: 206, unedited
Itoshi Sae wasnât one to gush over anythingâhe had a reputation to uphold. Cool, composed, untouchable. But all of that went out the window the moment he saw you in his jersey.
It wasnât just how it draped over you, oversized and soft, the hem brushing your thighs like it belonged there. It wasnât even how his name and number stretched across your back, as if announcing to the world that you were his. No, what really got to him was the way you looked at him when you wore it. So casual, so natural, like you were meant to.
âStop staring,â you teased, glancing at him over your shoulder.
âIâm not staring,â he lied, though his intense gaze betrayed him.
âYou are,â you grinned, turning to face him. âWhat, donât like it?â
He scoffed, stepping closer, his fingers brushing the fabric at your shoulder. âDonât be stupid,â he muttered, voice lower than usual. âYou know I do.â
You tilted your head, pretending to think. âOh, so you adore it.â
His ears turned red, but he refused to look away. âMaybe I do,â he admitted, his hand slipping to your waist. âGot a problem with that?â
âNot at all,â you whispered, pulling him closer.
And Sae, for all his composed demeanor, thought to himselfâif you kept wearing his jersey like that, he might never recover.

SUMMARY // In a quiet school classroom, Yukimiya Kenyu finds himself captivated by the new transfer student, experiencing an unexpected and fleeting connection that sparks a quiet curiosity and a sense of something more.
CONTENTS // love at first sight, pre blue lock. wc: 529, unedited.
The soft hum of chatter filled the classroom as students filed in, shuffling to their seats before the bell rang. Yukimiya Kenyu sat by the window, his chin resting on his hand as he stared outside. The gentle sway of the tree branches in the courtyard usually calmed him, a perfect way to center himself before the day began.
Today, however, something was different.
The door slid open, and you stepped inside. Yukimiya glanced over, just like everyone else, curious about the unfamiliar face. You must have been the new transfer student the teacher had mentioned the day before.
He wasnât expecting muchânew students came and wentâbut the moment he saw you, the world seemed to shift. It wasnât something dramatic, just a quiet awareness that settled over him, like the air had changed. You moved with an easy grace, your expression calm but polite as you greeted the teacher.
His gaze lingered longer than he intended.
âAlright, everyone,â the teacher announced, clapping their hands to get the roomâs attention. âThis is our new classmate. Please make them feel welcome.â
You introduced yourself, your voice steady but soft, and for reasons Yukimiya couldnât explain, the sound of it made his chest tighten. He shook his head slightly, trying to refocus. It wasnât like him to get distracted.
When the teacher gestured for you to take the empty seat a row ahead of his, Yukimiya straightened unconsciously. You walked past him, and as you settled into your chair, you glanced back, your eyes meeting his for the briefest moment.
It wasnât muchâjust a fleeting connectionâbut it left Yukimiya oddly flustered. He turned to his notebook, pretending to jot something down, but his mind was elsewhere.
As the lesson began, Yukimiya found himself stealing glances at you. It wasnât just your appearance, though you were undeniably striking. There was something about the way you listened intently to the teacher, the way you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, the way you seemed completely at ease despite being in a room full of strangers.
During the break, a few students approached you, introducing themselves and asking the usual questions about where you were from and why youâd transferred. Yukimiya didnât join them, but he listened from his seat, his attention drawn to your quiet laughter and the way you answered so thoughtfully.
âHey, Yukimiya,â one of his classmates teased, nudging his arm. âYouâve been staring.â
He blinked, startled, and quickly turned back to his notebook. âI wasnât,â he said, a little too quickly.
âSure,â they replied with a grin before wandering off.
Yukimiya sighed, running a hand through his hair. Maybe he had been staring. But he couldnât help itâthere was something about you that made it hard to look away.
As the day went on, he told himself it was nothing. You were just a new face, and it was natural to be curious. But when you smiled at him again during lunch, offering a small wave when your eyes met across the room, his heart skipped a beat.
And he knew.
It wasnât just curiosity. It was something more, something unexpected, and it all started with one glance.

SUMMARY // Amid years of playful rivalry, Karasu Tabito subtly reveals his long-held feelings for you during a rainy walk home, leaving you questioning the true nature of your relationship.
CONTENTS // oneshot, fluff, academic rivals to lovers, pre blue lock, ooc (??) karasu. wc 681
Karasu Tabito had always been good at keeping secrets. His talent for masking emotions was as sharp as his instinct on the soccer field or his knack for solving equations in record time. But there was one secret he couldnât shake, no matter how much he tried: heâd liked you since middle school.
Not that youâd ever notice.
You were his academic rival, after all. The one person who could make his blood race for reasons heâd never admit. Since the day you walked into his lifeâhead held high, confidence radiating like the sunâKarasu had been hooked. Not that heâd ever let it show. Instead, he let the rivalry take center stage, a perfect excuse to keep you close without revealing too much.
It was late in the evening after school, and the two of you were stuck in the library. Finals were around the corner, and neither of you would back down from the unspoken competition of who could study harderâor longer. The rain pattered against the tall windows, the only sound besides the occasional rustle of pages and the rhythmic tapping of your pen against the table.
âDo you always fidget when youâre stuck on a problem?â Karasu teased, leaning back in his chair. His sharp eyes flicked up from his notes to you, a smug grin tugging at his lips.
You shot him a glare, tapping your pen harder just to annoy him. âDo you always run your mouth when youâre pretending to study?â
âPretending?â he echoed, feigning offense. âIâll have you know, Iâm a genius at multitasking.â
âYouâre a genius at being obnoxious.â
He chuckled, kicking his legs up onto the empty chair beside you. âThat too.â
By the time the library announced its impending closure, the rain had only gotten worse. You gathered your notes and textbooks, trying to figure out how to make it to the train station without ruining all your hard work.
Karasu slung his bag over his shoulder, lingering as you struggled to balance everything. âYou really gonna walk in this storm?â
âDo I have a choice?â you muttered, double-checking that your notes were safely tucked away.
He shrugged, his usual smirk replaced by something softer. âGuess not. But you could let me carry that.â
You blinked, caught off guard. âWhy? So you can hold it over my head later?â
âNah,â he said casually, but his tone was surprisingly genuine. âJust thought Iâd help.â
You hesitated, but eventually handed him one of your textbooks. âFine. But if you drop it, Iâm never letting you live it down.â
âDeal.â
The two of you walked side by side under the dim glow of streetlights, the rain soaking through your shoes as Karasu balanced your book in one hand and held his bag with the other.
âYou know,â he said after a long stretch of silence, âweâve been doing this for a while.â
âDoing what?â
âThis. The whole ârivalsâ thing.â
You glanced at him. âWhat about it?â
âItâs just...â He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck. âItâs kinda funny, isnât it? How weâre always trying to one-up each other.â
You raised an eyebrow. âFunny how?â
He shrugged, staring straight ahead. âI dunno. Guess I just... donât mind it as much as I used to.â
That made you pause. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
Karasu tilted his head, smirking down at you. âYouâre sharp, arenât you? Figure it out.â
You frowned, trying to decipher the meaning behind his words. But before you could ask, he changed the subject, his voice light and teasing again.
âYou know, Iâm still gonna beat you on the next test.â
âOh, please.â You scoffed, rolling your eyes. âNot if I have anything to say about it.â
âKeep dreaming,â he said with a laugh, but the faintest hint of pink dusted his cheeks as he glanced away, hiding his expression.
And for the first time, as the two of you walked through the rain, you couldnât help but wonder if there was something more behind his playful wordsâsomething he wasnât quite ready to say aloud.

SUMMARY // Boothill drowns his grief in alcohol as he recalls the haunting memory of his daughter and the promise he failed to keep, the emptiness of Tyndallâs destruction lingering in every sip.
CONTENTS // character study, angst, mentions of boothill's past, alcohol consumption. pls lmk if i missed anything!! unedited, wc: 433
The bar was dimly lit, the faint hum of conversation blending with the occasional clink of glasses. Boothill sat in the corner, slouched over a half-empty bottle of something bitter and strong. His hat cast a shadow over his eyes, but even that couldnât hide the weariness etched into his features. The weight of memories was heavier than any weapon heâd ever wielded.
He raised the glass to his lips, the burn of the alcohol a poor substitute for the warmth heâd lost. His homeland felt like a dream now, blurred at the edges and slipping further from his grasp with every passing day. He could still remember the fields, the way the sunlight danced across the golden grass, and the sound of laughterâher laughter. His daughterâs voice was the only melody he ever cared to remember.
Boothill closed his eyes, and for a moment, he was back there. She was running through the fields, her small hands clutching wildflowers sheâd gathered for him. âLook, Papa!â sheâd called, her smile brighter than the sun. âI picked these for you!â He had knelt down, his rough hands gently accepting the delicate bouquet. He remembered her giggle when he placed one of the flowers in her hair, telling her she was prettier than any treasure in the galaxy.
The glass slipped in his hand, clinking loudly against the table. The sound snapped him back to the present, and he let out a shaky breath. She wasnât here anymore. Neither was the homeland he had fought to protect. It had been torn apart, lost to the chaos of war, and with it went everything he held dear.
The bartender glanced his way, concern flickering in their eyes, but Boothill waved them off. He wasnât looking for sympathyâhe didnât deserve it. He had failed. He hadnât been there when it mattered most. He hadnât been there to protect her.
The alcohol dulled the edges of his grief, but it couldnât erase the ghost of her voice or the weight of her absence. Every drink was a desperate attempt to drown the memories, but they clung to him like shadows, refusing to let go.
He tipped the bottle again, the liquid burning down his throat. The pain in his chest was worse than any wound heâd ever endured. Boothill wasnât sure if he drank to remember or to forget, but either way, it never worked. All he had left were the echoes of a life he could never reclaim.
And in the quiet of the bar, surrounded by strangers who didnât know his name, Boothill mourned in silence.

SUMMARY // Rin, who despises physical contact, finds himself unexpectedly yearning for your touch, realising you're the only exception to his guarded walls.
CONTENT // drabble, sfw, fluff, gn!reader
Itoshi Rin has never been one for physical affection. It doesn't matter if its a hug from a teammate after scoring a goal, or a high five after a match. Their actions are unreciprocated and often met with the cold shoulder, but that's how he's always been. His teammates learned quicklyâkeep your distance. Even Sae, in their rare moments of brotherly connection, kept his gestures limited to a curt nod or a fleeting brush of a hand.
And yet, with you, something shifted.
The first time it happened, it was unintentional. You had been laughing, carefree and radiant, and instinctively placed a hand on his shoulder to steady yourself. Rin practically froze under your touch, but instead of the usual discomfort, there was warmth. A strange, unfamiliar heat that spread from where your hand rested, coursing through his veins like a quiet hum.
He didnât flinch or pull away. Instead, he found himself leaning ever so slightly into your touch, almost imperceptibly, as though his body was betraying him in the gentlest way.
The next time, it was deliberate. You were seated beside him, scrolling through your phone, when your fingers brushed against his. It was a fleeting moment, one you probably didnât even notice, but Rin did. He noticed everything. The way your hand felt smaller than his, the way your warmth lingered even after youâd pulled away. That night, he lay awake, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out why he didnât hate it.
Now, itâs different. Heâs different.
When you reach for him, he doesnât flinch. When you link your arm through his, he doesnât pull away. When your fingers trail across his skin, he doesnât tense. Instead, he craves itâseeks it out in quiet, unspoken ways. A hand on the small of your back when you walk together. His fingers brushing yours as he hands you something. A subtle lean closer when you sit beside him.
Rin still hates physical contactâexcept when itâs with you. With you, it doesnât feel like an invasion. It feels like home.

And for the first time, as the two of you walked through the rain, you couldnât help but wonder if there was something more behind his playful wordsâsomething he wasnât quite ready to say aloud.
author's note // idk how to feel about this one lowkey. kinda wna write a rin version of this, but we'll see how it goes!!
And in the quiet of the bar, surrounded by strangers who didnât know his name, Boothill mourned in silence.
author's notes // this is my first time writing angst so i apologise for the bad quality. this fic was requested by a super cool person from a discord server im in !!
