A&R Life In Thailand

Oey (Phurin Phongsobhon) was born in Bangkok, Thailand. He moved to Melbourne, Australia. to study: his major subject was music. He then began playing in a jazz band at Geelong Grammar School. He studied at SAE College completing a year of audio engineering, and later moved to JMC Academy to study business management in music and entertainment where he completed a Bachelors Degree. Oey is now currently in Bangkok, Thailand working at JSS Production, http://www.jssproduction.com who has opened a record company called “Great Odyssey Records”. He is their A&R manager who seeks for new talent in Thailand and internationally. The company also part owns a studio near Pattaya called "Karma Sound Studios" run by famous English producers and engineers such as Chris Craker and Bobo Piyapong Ekrangsi - http://www.karmasoundstudios.com - He is also helping with promoter companies in Bangkok such as "Rock n' Rolla" and "Silverlake Entertainment" who have been putting a lot of good concerts and festivals around Thailand. Silverlake Music Festival was the first international music festival in Thailand and they had Incubus as a headliner. Rock n' Rolla's first concert was Deep Purple. He also used to write for an online magazine called "Pulse! Thailand" and was acting as a contributor for them.
