how are your relationships with all of the people you know, outside les amis? (such as valjean, cosette, ect, ect)
They all left an impact in my life when I was trying to settle into a life away from my grandfather.
Cosette, my beloved Cosette. Her smile rivals the sun and her eyes shine brighter than the morning star! She gives me so much and I don’t have much to give her in return but my love.
Éponine is very dear to me, a very important person in my life. Éponine is one of my first friends and together we managed to get through some of the rough times. I do not know where I would be without Éponine.
Père Mabeuf is one of my dearest friends. The old man was a friend of my father’s and I appreciate all he tells me about him, I do not remember my father, but Père Mabeuf is closest to what I would call a father. I sometimes help him in his garden, and I wish there is more that could do for him in return for all he did for me.
I do not know what Monsieur Valjean thinks of me. I think he tolerates me for Cosette’s sake, and there is something terrifying about him in the way he looms and hovers, yet, I think he will not harm anyone. I try not to make him angry.
Madame Fantine is a kind lady. Sometimes I watch her interact with Cosette and I catch myself imagining what my own mother would be like… I hope someday I can prove myself worthy enough to her to be with Cosette.
