Now, speaking of the asshole, he’s come right around and has the–once again, audacity to act all buddy-buddy. Nah, never mind. The moment fingers digs into his form into that firm grip, Rick grunts in annoyance. He’ll even do a little shrug to get the guy to lay off.

There’s a dry chuckle, almost sardonic? “Who knows, maybe the buddies I make’ll team up with me and go against you.” The sarcasm is matched, well—-ALMOST. “Though something tells me, you’d like that. Y’know a lil’ challenge. ‘M I right?”

There is truth in it all but he plays it at a careless stance. One would think they are joking until it actually happens, "They only left a stain though."

A few loose chuckles came from his crew. The few that didn’t chuckle were the more serious of his bunch and likely present for the time that this ‘story’ took place. To one of these members in specific, he gestured to as they passed a hallway and they splintered off with two others, “But ya know, you already understand how our system works! ≈ He falls silent. Of course Kane isn’t going to believe him. Not in this situation, because he knows how Rick is. The REAL Rick. He doesn’t speak, perhaps it’s for the best for now. A moment of silence or something of such. The silence is broken when he hears Kane’s whisper.

“You made a mistake…We all do.” Genuinity. You know, because Rick can’t act all high and mighty, he knows this. He needs to tell that to the anger, raging, grudge-holding side.

“How many times do I have to make ‘a mistake’ before it becomes a habit?” And now, he holds the stare out the window, incapable of addressing the features that may hold painful answers, "shit, with how long it's went..." He catches himself before carrying on. He doesn't want to admit how long he's been seeing her. Or how long he's used the drug. Surely Rick could guesstimate his own time frame based on the change of behavior.

The sad fact is, he recalls his fathers habits but doesn't relive or acknowledge that this wasn't his first rodeo in these parts. He'd done this before, but with other partners. It was another fact that he doesn't want to make known to Rick- but here they were. What they have isn’t the same as what Kanes had in the past, so it has him deeply questioning the why. If Rick had the warning, maybe they wouldn't be here, "I really fucked up again..."

Oh, she’s having none of his “professionalism” nonsense. The jokes? She expected them, but if he actually thought she was leaving he was under a terrible misapprehension. In fact, she moved a bit closer, going onto her tiptoes to get as close to eye level as she could with the mammoth of a man. Slim fingers curled in the fabric of his collar, her eyes narrowing at him. “Good jokes. Now, explain to me how you forgot to mention your boyfriend is a cop? You know I don’t care about who you’re with but to leave that detail out…” she let out a frustrated huff, “I don’t care how high we were, you’re a fool.”

She wants to smack him, to push him down and step on his throat, but she settles for glaring impressive daggers. As much as she hates to admit it, she’s still fond of him to a degree. Enough that she wants to keep toying with him. Or maybe it’s just spite. It’s hard for her to tell with the cloud of anger resting over her and telling her to age his cock into a pile of dust….

“I could do some horrible things to you right now,” her voice is lower now, and there’s a note of suggestion that comes with a cruel twist of soft red lips, “I bet you’d still like some of them.”

“You didn’t ask, so I didn’t tell," he wasn't stranger to trying and leaning away from her grip and stare. The hand that wrapped around her wrist to try and gently pry away was apprehensive. Only after establishing it did she do that thing she does. Where her self confidence is envying and draws him in along with her choice of words that could be taken as domineering. He's held with silence at those words and looks at her with a slack jaw, but has to quickly remind himself.

"I wouldn't doubt it, but I think I deserve a quick explanation on that freeze frame ya pulled." Not that what he did was worse when it comes to their type of people, but he needed some type of comeback. If not, then he feels he may get stuck in a little situation that played part in why he has the marbled face, "Because I won't lie, yes that was a pretty important detail I accidentally left out, but- what the fuck?"
