We All Have Our Own Stories to Tell...

I had a dream last night that almost makes me want to write a fanfic. In the dream Billy Butcher winds up in a purgatory like space, and there he finds a little boy crying, he doesn't know it but it's the little kid version of Homelander, John. He asks the little boy why he's crying and John replies, "You hit me..." BC Butcher doesn't recognize him, he denies ever hitting any kid, but John insists, "You hit me extra hard in the head with a big bar..." And that jogs Butcher's memory a bit lmao. So Butcher proceeds to invite this lil baby John out onto a lake that just showed up, and while they are in the little boat, Butcher starts thinking about possibly drowning John. Just as he's thinking that though, John leans out of the boat and falls into the lake and starts drowning, and instead of letting him drown, Butcher fishes him out of the lake. Scared, John starts hugging on him, and after a bit of hesitancy, Butcher gives him a half hug/pat back. Afterwards, Butcher looks out across the water into the forests beyond. In the distance he can see Ryan and Becka watching the two of them. Just watching, waiting. Butcher wants to abandon the boat and try to swim to shore and go run after them into the forest. But he somehow just knows that if he tries to, everything will disappear and he'll be left in an empty void with nothing. So instead, he stays in the boat with John, and teaches him how to fish...
