Unfortunately, that rushed ending is going to taint the enjoyment of the finale and the entire show in general forever. But I wanted to take a moment to enumerate the various things I enjoyed about this episode:
Eve didn’t need Villanelle’s help to dispose of Gunn (after all, that training with Yusef had to have a payoff). I loved that they turned it into a battle for Villanelle. The moment Gunn uttered “She’s mine,” you knew Eve was going to find a way to fuck a bitch up
The visual hilarity of Eve up in a tree
That moment when Villanelle grabs Eve’s arm to inspect her bloody hand and it looks like V was going to kiss E then! Not sure if that was intentional, but I thought it was a brilliant and cruel fake out.
Villanelle’s wave and Eve’s middle finger to Gunn. I mean they do realize her eyes were gouged out right? I love these fucking idiot, single-shared-brain cell murder wives
The way Eve snapped Villanelle out of her pissy mood with “That is life and we are running out of time” (yeah, we know, Eve!) followed by V picking up Eve and spinning her (callback to the spinning scene in 4x02?)

Eve and Villanelle explaining their relationship to the hikers
The nod to fandoms with having them sleep in a single sleeping bag, a play on the “there’s only one bed” trope
The scar touching scene and those looks! *swoon*
The way Villanelle pulling the charger out of that dude’s phone LOL
That kiss! Passionate and joyful, I could not have imagined a better one. If anything could be described as “glorious” in this episode, it was that moment

The Twelve killing scene juxtaposed with the dancing sequence was visually stunning
I’m just going to stop there, because the rest is just too painful at the moment.
I probably will need a few days to process the finale which will have to include a rewatch of the Carolyn scenes to fully understand what happened. But when Eve called Carolyn “rotten to the core” in 4x06, it seems she was right all along. Carolyn clearly played Eve and Villanelle again, just as she did in 2x08
And while the end was very disappointing, I do believe the show stayed true to the characters. We knew from the very beginning that this was not going to end well. Nonetheless, I will forever cherish what we got.
