So I just finished reading the first volume of Mistborn

SPOILER WARNING

So I just finished the prequel duology and can we take the moment to appreciate the absolutely masterful foreshadowing of the ending of The Rise & Fall of SGE? Like when i started reading it, I found a bunch of weird inconsistencies that I just brushed off as mistakes of the author, nobody cares about the eye color of the characters after all, right? RIGHT? Then as more things were hinted, throughout the entire duration of the book it led to me slowly realizing and not wanting to acknowledge the fact that Rafal is going to end up dead.

I remember staring at the covers like:

"Why don't their eye colors on the two covers match???"

"Wait, I was 100% sure that Rafal's eyes were icy blue???"

(reaching for vol 3 of the main series) "Yeah he for sure had blue eyes here, but also looking at Rafal from the Rise of sge and this guy... this guy is NOT Rafal."

all of that brushed off as just lack of attention to detail or character's personality differing from book to book because of the gap in time between writing them (looking at you, Shane from Spirit Animals)

"wait... his eyes are consistently green here."

"hold on, its Rhian who can't sleep well??"

"Wow, Rafal believes he is Good now, I'm so excited to see what makes him turn Evil again!"

" :O... Unless... "

HOW COULD I HAVE EVER DOUBTED YOU, MR CHAINANI

IT ALL MADE SENSE (annd emotionally destroyed me for the entire time i was reading it)

Edit: ALSO the fact that i remember looking at the pictures in book 1 (right after starting it) and thinking to myself "Wow... Rhian looks sort of antagonistic here? I wonder why they drew the Good brother with such sharp hair and facial expression" and similarly "Wait, this Rafal is not looking like I imagined. why is his face so round? He almost looks... Good here. I wonder why?"
