I think my biggest Self Care tip that really helps me in my day-to-day is have have a Bare Minimum version of a task.
For example: dental hygiene can be a struggle for me for routine reasons, sensory reasons, and spoon reasons. When I have good days (which I am having more of) I thrive with my brush teeth -> floss -> tongue scraper -> mouthwash routine. It makes me feel good and clean and all that stuff. The not good days? That's where the Bare Minimum comes in. Since bedtime is prime "uh oh no more spoons" time, it can be tempting to skip "just one time" but I know me well enough to know that is a slippery slope.
So on days where the idea of scraping anything in my mouth makes me want to scream, I just do mouthwash. Is it as good as a full dental routine? No. Is it as good as just brushing teeth and not doing the other stuff? Probably not. But it is better than doing absolutely nothing, and it crucially keeps me On Routine in a way that has me more likely to continue it moving forward!
