What is The Monkees Ao3 Feed and why does it exist?
The Monkees Ao3 Feed is a automated RSS Feed that automatically posts new posts of NEW works under The Monkees TV Show Tag as well as The Monkees (Band) Tag onto Tumblr, this means if you were to follow this account or turn on notifications, you will notified whenever a new fic hits the fandom tags and makes it easier to find.
Who runs this account?
This account currently has 2 mods, Mod Diamond and Mod Toy! Both of us run the account, both of us are here to answer questions and tag posts so feel free to reach out! You can find Mod Toy at @cuddly-t0y, also listed under the socials tab! This should now make tags appear at a faster rate then before. The Monkees Ao3 Feed is also an account under The Rainbow Room, a fan created project to help group community projects made for the fandom. This means if there's ever prompt lists or anything made in the future, they will be hosted on this account as well.

Why can't the RSS Feed catch Updates or Locked fics?
Due to how Ao3's RSS feed works, the main fandom feeds are just unable to catch any kind of updates, which means the only way to catch updates is through a third party method that just hasn't been tried here yet. That doesn't mean it can't be tested out in the future, but it also means to please understand if we can't automatically update fics. Locked fics are also similar but don't have a direct work around so there's simply no way for the feed to catch them, so please if you would LIKE for us to post either your fic updates or your locked fic, feel free to either message us or send an ask, we'd be happy to do so
This is also why the Ao3 Feed is unabled to be filter, there ARE ways to do this with third party sites but those cost money and we're just simply not in the spot to spend money filtering the feed, and we will not be asking anyone to pay. We would love any help, just shoot us an ask if you see any questionable material pass through the feed.
Does this Blog post (Insert Ship Here) or (Insert Character Here)?
Yes, regardless of character bias, ship bias whatever, you will find on this page, even including x Ocs or Readers. Each will be properly tagged (even if it takes us a minute) and be archived into our tagging navigation/system. Original Characters as a tag will not be apart of it as well, yeah. we will tag other characters like John Lennon (though forgive us if they end up skipped over) but they will not be listed on the navigation page to keep it Monkees focused

If you would like to ask or send your own fic recommendations, please go ahead. Does that mean either Mod will directly have a suggestion or recs? No but we'll leave the floor open for anyone to give recs if they'd like
How did you make your Ao3 Feed?
I (Mod Diamond) personally used This Tutorial by @magess which is a Zapier tutorial which is what I personally use for our feed. I've heard good things with Make and a good chunk of people still use IFTTT.
All this to say if you want to make a Ao3 feed for your favorite Monkees ship or Character, we'd say go for it! We certainly don't own the idea in any way shape or form so again please, feel free!

Well, he didn’t even know where to begin with attraction. Throughout his life it was just girls, then Peter. And it would probably continue to be that way for eternity at this rate.
He finally snapped back to reality, nodding. “Yeah, we do.”
