hold your breath and capture the moment

I’m always in a search to find the best beauty products. Mostly I just want the products to do what they say they are going to do (I know I must be asking too much). My trust in products has diminished in my seemingly never ending quest. So when I come across a break though product I get very giddy! I thought I would share my experience with those of you who are also searching in hope that it will work for you.

Bert’s Bees products have been around for some time now. I have mostly just used their lip balm - which is also amazing btw (I recommend trying the rose tinted balm for those who like some color). My main reason for not trying their cleansing products until now is mostly price. Their prices are pretty high for the drugstore, and thus for me. However, last month I was in Target needing some makeup removing cleansing wipes and came across the Bert’s Bees sensitive skin wipes. I was suffering from a few breakouts and my skin was suffering from irritation so I thought I would give them a try. Amazingly within days my skin was clear!! It completely cleared up and was feeling great. Now I thought this could be a coincidence because I am not very trusting of products, like I said earlier. But as my face continued on its clear path I decided to stop using my facewash and just used the wipes to see if it would work. And it did!

Using the wipes morning and night and after any sweating like workouts really burns through them fast. I was out in under a month. I would definitely call that a con, but I also concluded that I should go back to using the wipes for makeup removal and when I’m too lazy to wash. So I decided to try out the sensitive face cleanser. I found this cleanser for around $9 in Walmart and Target. the first thing I noticed was that a little goes a long way. I used too much the first application and now I just use an almond size amount and it’s more than enough to clean my face and even neck.

Side note - I know that most people treat their necks as they do the rest of their body, using their body soap or wash, but they shouldn’t. Treat your neck as an extension of your face, basically because it is. The skin on your neck is the same consistency as your face, and will show wrinkles and skin damage the same as your face. The worst thing though is that there is no neck reconstructive surgery you could ever get that will make it youthful and it’s also hard to cover up. I even treat my chest to the same treatment, even though it’s not the same skin consistency as my face, it shows skin damage easily and I want it to look good as long as it can.

So back to the cleanser, a little goes a long way. This also makes the price worth it to me because it will last a lot longer. The formula does say that it removes makeup, but I still use the wipes, maybe because I like to see the makeup that comes off. At first I thought the cleanser was a little difficult to get off, it seemed to leave a little residue and I felt like it might clog my pores. To my surprise my pores have never looked cleaner - I have a magnified mirror so trust me. The residue seems to me as more of a moisturizer now and I haven’t had to use my moisturizer since either. It takes a little getting used to because I really liked the feeling of nothing on my face. You can use a brush or washcloth to get it off, but I have done it both ways and still get positive results. My experience has only been positive so far and I want to do more research on more of the Bert’s Bees products now.
