"I went Wandering..."

Post Entry #193 1: Begin Again  World went bad. I left to become a better person. Left a lot behind, left myself behind. New fella, just Hank to some, “The Wanderer” to most. Suits well. Just exactly that. A wanderer. Telling a story to those who cross my path on their own journey, become part of their story maybe. 5 years. Changed a man. Left good folk behind, better that way, less attachment means less heartbreak. Hope they ended up well. Meet again one day, at least tell their story if I can. For now, I’ll share the stories I have made, maybe someone will find them long afterwards, hope they help.   

Anyone who knows me well enough will know of my absolute love for the work of Hunter S Thompson; a Gonzo journalist and all round batshit insane man. I had been reading about the life with Hunter as told by his artist friend, Ralph Steadman (check his work out, it's wonderful) and read about how Hunter would treat his pet bird, Edward. This was mostly for the purpose of showmanship for Ralph though. I'm obviously against animal violence of any kind but the way this was told was just too funny to not draw.

Quick animatin based on the absolutely stunning new style of season 5 Samurai Jack. I grew up with this show and loved everything about it. Thankfully, the reboot has remembered it's fans and has aged perfectly to not only appeal to the older audience but still maintain the charm and beauty of the original series. The animations and BG's are just incredibly smooth and the animation is no longer reptitive (It never bothered me, but having watched the old eps again, they've really aged, but pretty well in fairness). The new cel shading, especially that  blue tint of "Mad Jack" is amazing and I wanted to have a go at replicating the style within the new show. It would be near impossible to do so perfectly but I have to admit, this was great fun! Would of preferred more shading, but again, was trying to replicate the style. Tired old Lupinc has had enough of fighting...

Quick drawing I did of astralfenrir's character, Ramsey; a sort of cult priest of a bunch of sheep whom are trying to join their "floating brothers in the sky" kinda thing.

Trade based on a very funny conversation I had with my buddy Morgz (astralfenrir) recently with a new OC he's making (A Fennec Fox that sounds like Nick Offerman and MIGHT be a God stuck in tiny fox body). Foley sure shows up a lot in my stuff, huh? My only real complaint is the layout is a bit like a earlier comic I did but it's purely coincidental, must try and avoid it a third time though. Also, slightly private joke in that Foley took 10 steps on the spot, the cheeky blighter.

Never really watched Invader Zim growing up but watched a few eps a few weeks ago during a nostalgia week on Nicktoons. Style is pretty neat; has a real distopia feel. Also it was a friends b-day this week who really likes this show. Realy quite tricky to turn a real simple design into something more fleshed out in my style. Gotta give credit to the makers for being able to create such a style and make it work.

Trade with TheFugitoid Because everything sounds cooler in Spanish. Really fun design here, had a lot of fun drawing this - sign of a good character I always feel. Mesed up one or two aspects but that's more me experimenting with design.

Part of a collab I’m doing. Punch-Out!! has always had a special place in my heart and I always wanted to do that infamous bike jogging montage scene. Luckily for me, the peep I am doing this with does really amazing backgrounds.

So I was going to do that #meettheartist thing but realised it was stupid; considering there seems to be a bloody new one every year and the fact people post their entire life story on their "about me", I decided to just do something as practice for a Uni Project (as inspired by Ralph Steadman). Don't ask about....The whole...Down below thing... I guess I really did not want to draw legs.

For Cy-Bobcat So... Hank got into the good stuff again the other day. Been meaning to draw somthing for this chap for a while so I guess at one point I decided it was a good idea whilst I was in La La Land... I think, upon memory serving me, I often found the idea of a character having white hands so weird as I would often question if they were gloves or not. I guess Hank liked the idea of hands melting when the same thing was happening to me....

For now, I am using two of my fave books, The Twits and Fantastic Mr Fox, whilst still figuring out the third one (Possibly James and the Giant Peach). These are jsut quic 5 minute sketches of how they might look in my style. The important thing is to keep them basic and charming. more to follow.

Well, here is a character I have not drawn in over a year! So a few years ago, I messed around with the idea of elements being spirits like PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE EVER. But of course, I loved them too much to care, this was the first one, the spirit of fire soon to be named Fae. I know I have gained a few watchers since after I drew her last so here be a quick recap: Fae is a fire spirit who got her face destroyed by her self-claimed Ice God Brother Iz who stole her original mask (I'll probably draw him later). Gifted with a new mask acting as her new face, she became a lot more...Wrath......y? Has a pet firefly living in her ear too. Went for the comic book style again; think it is clear to see that new laptop is doing pretty damn well....
