So what is this blog. Honestly it’s just me. My thoughts, my feelings, the random stuff that happens in my life that i need to put somewhere. I’ve been wanting a place to just talk and tumblr felt right for that :)

The main characters of my life other than me: my girlfriend, who i am so embarrassingly in love with. Like i don’t know what she did to me but whatever it was it worked. We live together which is still something i have to remind myself is real sometimes. And then there’s her three kids who came with the package and honestly i wouldn’t change that for anything. My little family that i didn’t fully see coming but now can’t imagine not having <3

I’m gonna talk a lot about being a lesbian on here. What it means to me, what it looked like figuring it out, what it looks like now living it every day with someone i love. The big feelings and the small ones. The domestic stuff, the hard stuff, the moments that are so good u almost can’t believe they’re ur real life :)

I’m also just a person with thoughts and opinions and a lot of feelings so expect that too.

I want to propose to my girlfriend.

Like i just.. i know. I know she’s it for me in a way that doesn’t feel scary or uncertain, it just feels like the most obvious thing in the world. I look at her and i look at the life we’re building and i think yeah that’s my wife.

That’s the person i want to spend the rest of my life with.

We’ve been together for 9 months which i know sounds fast to some people and i genuinely do not care. When u know u know is a thing people say and i always thought it was kind of annoying until it happened to me.

Has anyone on here proposed to their partner? How did u know when it was the right time to actually do it? How did u plan it?? What did u say? I’m taking all advice and also emotional support in the notes please and thank you <3

Woke up this morning with a full mouthful of 3 year old hair and said 3 year old using my arm as a pillow.

At some point in the night my girlfriend was replaced by her daughter and i didn’t even notice.

I just accepted it in my sleep. Adapted, evolved.

This is my life now.

I just spat the hair out and went back to sleep like it was nothing.

Domesticity is something else man

Step one: spend years thinking girls are just really pretty in a way that is definitely normal and not at all a sign of anything.

Step two: have approximately one or two female friends growing up because being around girls too much made u feel a type of way that u did not have the vocabulary for yet.

Step three: develop a massive crush on a girl in ur class at 15 and spend an embarrassing amount of time thinking about what it would be like to kiss her. Also notice that thinking about kissing boys gives u the ick. File that information away and do nothing with it.

Step four: finally at 17 kiss a girl for the first time and have ur entire brain go OH WOW.

Step five: get a girlfriend. come out to ur parents. mom is incredible about it, cries the good tears, loves u exactly the same. Dad is.. a work in progress. He still occasionally mentions hoping i’ll find a boyfriend someday which is a sentence i will never not find exhausting.

But here i am at 25, more gay than ever, in love with a woman who is genuinely everything and so glad that 17 year old me figured it out.

Indie and absolutely devastating. About queer desire being almost suffocated by what society expects from u. If u have ever had to pretend u didn’t feel something u felt, this song knows.

Boys Aside - Sofya Wang

About falling for a girl who was with a guy at the time. So understated and so real. The kind of song u put on and just stare at the ceiling.

Sleepover - Hayley Kiyoko

Everyone knows hayley kiyoko but not everyone has heard this one specifically. It’s about being physically so close to the girl u like but still miles away from where u want to be. Lesbian pining at its most precise.

Silk Chiffon - MUNA ft Phoebe Bridgers

Not super unknown but underplayed. This song was literally designed to feel like exhaling. Pure queer joy which we don’t get enough of honestly.

Parked Car Convos EP - Paige

Chill r&b, bisexual artist, the whole ep is about intimate conversations between two people who both know they want to be more than what they are. Listen to it at night.

Cool - Soccer Mommy

Indie guitar, quietly about longing for a girl, nobody talks about this one enough. The kind of song that sneaks up on u.

Snail Mail

Just the whole discography. Indie rock wlw artist who has been making music since she was 15. Start anywhere.

Smoothboi Ezra

Irish sapphic artist whose songs end up on every sapphic yearning playlist for a reason. If u know u know.

Ok this one is for the girls who are tired of the soft acoustic lesbian aesthetic. Hyperpop meets glitchcore meets hip hop and she’s gay. So refreshing.

And this guy walks up and starts hitting on her.

Right in front of me like i was invisible. Like i was not JUST holding her hand. Like we had not been looking at each other like that for the past hour.

Here’s the thing about mj.. she is very pretty. Like i get it. I really do. But BRO read the room.

I was not nice about it. I want to be clear. I was polite in the way that is somehow scarier than being rude. I told him we were together, we were on a date and he needed to leave us alone.

He rolled his fucking eyes at me.. and then he left and mj looked at me in this way that she does and honestly the whole thing was almost worth it for that look alone.

But also can we talk about how exhausting it is to exist as a wlw couple in public sometimes. Like we’re just trying to have a nice anniversary dinner. We’re just two people in love trying to eat our food in peace..

Why is that a difficult concept??
