Summit of Chimney Tops trail. This was one of my favorite hikes in the Smokies. It's a strenuous 2 mile climb with 1500 ft elevation gain and a badass finish that requires 150 feet of free climbing to reach the summit...pretty rad. (at Great Smoky Mountains National Park)

I love watching and listening to birds. There grace in flight and there precision in hunting is truly incredible. Watching the Peregrine Falcons hunt from high atop Stony Man Peak was one of my favorite memories from backpacking in Virginia. (at Stony Man, Virginia)
