the premise
— it’s freshman year. i’m a film & television major at NYU. i get bitten by a radioactive spider when i tried to guide it out my window. on hindsight, i probably should have used gloves. i did end up killing the spider out of panic. (sorry.)
— i started feeling off & thought i was sick, so i decided to take an afternoon nap to sleep it off. apparently, i began climbing the walls instead of my usual sleepwalking & ended up upside down. like a bat.
— so when my roommate, ethan, knocks on my door & opens it to give me some soup, i got startled awake & fell on my head. how i didn’t get concussed, who knows?
— cue ethan running to me in a panic, completely bewildered by the fact that i’d been hanging upside down from our apartment ceiling. we freak out together for a good 10 minutes before calming down & putting the pieces together.
the birth of vampyder
— so. ethan & i find out (through an all-nighter of deep dives on the internet & experimentation) that the spider that bit me was from some sort of vampiric strain. which explained why i had fangs now & couldn’t focus on anything but his neck while we talked. and like the very good friend he was, he let me feed on him. <3
— a week or two after that incident, i’d decided to take on vigilantism (as i’d always half-joked about wanting to do) & help new york, dubbed as “vampyder”. (btw mamdani is mayor & a huge fan.)
2026 ⚲ karnaca, serkonos. hailing from karnaca & being raised in a single mother-household, i grew up knowing that the isles could be a better place. hardened with a fierce sense of justice, i was sought out by the outsider in one of my frequent, vivid dreams, in which he bestowed me his mark. now, i do what i can to protect the people with my new gift, dubbed as karnaca’s karma.

❝ —and HABIT, yeah. don’t interrupt me, bitty. um, how do i explain this? so that’s HABIT … who is also evan. okay, fuck it—HABIT is a demon possessing evan. since three weeks ago. yeah. um, also, i got turned into a vampire … around the same time.
anyway, so i’ve been trying to wrap my head around things for the past three weeks. getting used to these bad boys. jeff, can you please hold so i can show the … thanks. see? they’re sharp fangs. anyway, so here’s basically what happened:
the four of us were checking out an abandoned house. just something we like to do. and, uh, we found this ouija board & brought it home. we obviously shouldn’t have fucked with it, but vince is … vince. jeff & i didn’t want anything to do with it. evan … well, he went with it. anyway, we played around a bit with it, then evan started … talking weird. his voice was all low & distorted & layered, is the best way i can put it. apparently, it was HABIT possessing ev, then his voice went back to normal.
anyway, i got weird symptoms that night. jaw pain, but i always get jaw pain, so i thought it was normal. then, um … i got hungry. really hungry. could hear every little thing, see every speck of dust. i, uh, apparently went batshit crazy & nearly tore evan’s throat out? i don’t know, i don’t remember the whole thing, like i blacked out during. but it turns out that HABIT used his … powers (?) to regenerate evan’s body, so … that’s that. we’re good. he’s fine. so i guess i got cursed by … vampirism or something. apparently.
um … jeff & vince have been trying to keep our shit together. i’ve been feeding on evan & HABIT mostly, but jeff’s nice enough to offer when they’re not around. anyway. that’s all for now, i think. see you in the next one, when we figure out more about this shit. ❞

bring ethan ‘round to either my family’s place, his family’s, or a restaurant for our usual lunches with each other’s families. be absorbed in our own lil’ conversations.

unwind. maybe go to the beach or go to his or our place. lounge around at the smoothie shop, play some board games, yap away.

part ways with ethan, go home, unwind, take another shower. (you can never have too many cold showers in the summer.) lounge around on the sofa & go on my phone. get ready for dinner.

have dinner with the landrys at another overpriced restaurant or on someone’s yacht. also see rafe out & about (why does he always seem to follow us?) with the camerons, whom the former bothers us after dinner. maybe go to the boneyard if i’m successfully convinced.

finally go home. receive a text or a call from ethan checking if i made it home okay. receive a dry text from rafe, which i ignore. get ready for bed. play board games with the family.

how to deal with your own thoughts when it comes to manifesting or shifting? i daydream a lot and then have to do homework in my cr or just doomscroll on tiktok seeing edits of my s/o and i want so badly to just be in my reality
but when it comes to affirming or assuming or deciding, i feel like these are thoughts or decisions my brain can't hold on to, it's like holding the assumption starts slipping through my fingers like mist and then im back to thinking about my cr
i think i jst dk what it means to "keep my attention" on being in my dr and being a stubborn shifter from here on out like so many shifters on tumblr mention......
also does changing your mind about what reality you want to shift to matter? i want to shift to one dr in the morning then in the evening i get thoughts of shifting somewhere else but then i go back to the first reality and i worry it like resets my progress somehow? idk im jst all kinds of confused
hi anon !! take everything i say with a grain of salt. this is u & me brainstorming rn. i’m gently holding your hands & we’re knocking our brain cells together. okay? okay!

you don’t have to constantly think about nor affirm that you’re in your desired reality. you aren’t doing anything wrong (there is no “right” or “wrong” in shifting itself). it’s okay to think about your cr while assuming you’re in your dr, because your intent is to be in your dr. there is no need to micromanage your thoughts. you decide which thoughts hold power & substance, which then dictate your reality.
for example, intrusive thoughts of chopping off your finger when chopping food. you don’t actually want to chop off your fingers. but do you start going, “oh my god, i thought about chopping off my fingers, now it has to happen”? no. (at least, i hope not!) or when your brain wanders (in your words, daydream), you just let your thoughts pass; you don’t cling onto them, right?

perhaps i worded it poorly on my previous post. i did say that “i don’t mean constantly remind yourself you’re holding [your assumption].” some people shift using methods (which are only tools, not what “makes” you shift, since you are the one making yourself shift). one might prefer to shift through “being stubborn”, as you’ve mentioned, which could be through robotic affirmations, for example. but others might prefer to just set the intention of shifting & go to bed. others might want to scroll on pinterest & tiktok before doing their methods. some don’t have methods, they just do whatever they want.
do you see where i’m getting at? you don’t have to do anything. you don’t have to be a “stubborn shifter”. if “keeping your attention” on being in your dr looks different, then who’s to say your process is wrong? maybe you want to daydream. maybe you want to shift through a lucid dream. maybe maybe maybe. bottom line is: do whatever feels right to you. experiment, figure out what you don’t like & discarding them. experiment & see what you like, what seems easier for you.

no !! it doesn’t “reset” your progress whatsoever. i know what you mean, i used to think that way. but think of it like this: you’re driving to point A. you’re on the highway & vibing. you go, “huh, actually, i want to go to point Z.” do you turn the car around, start from the very beginning of your journey, and only then restart the journey to point Z? no! you just … keep driving from wherever you were when you decided you wanted to switch the GPS to point Z. & you just go!
(for the sake of the analogy, let’s disregard “logical possibility” of “maybe point Z is in the other direction”. & like i mentioned in the last post, there is no “driving”, you’re already at your destination.)
so, to summarize:
— you set the intention of, “hey, i’m in my desired reality.” everything else—passing thoughts, thoughts of your cr, the 3d—is background noise. you don’t have to frantically go, “NO I’M IN MY DR I’M IN MY DR!!!” just remind yourself internally, “well, whatever tf this shit happening around me & in my head is doesn’t mean anything. i’m still in my dr. duh!”
— no need to win the #1 most stubborn shifter in the multiverse award. literally just do whatever you want. as intense or as relaxed as you want. as grounded or as dreamy as you want. as lengthy or as short as you want. it’s genuinely important for you to be comfortable!
— “doing XYZ will reset my progress” is a fallacy. don’t be too harsh on yourself. you can read anyone (even yourself) saying anything, decide you don’t like it, mentally block them, & do your own thing. like … who is anyone to tell you there are conditions to fulfill ????

non-dualism in shifting, with a sprinkle of descartes ♱ ahem. i am no expert. i did some research into each concept & interpreted a mash-up like those 2016 youtube nightcore remixes. this is my stream of consciousness, my two cents, explained to the best of my ability. i am always open to questions !!
non-dualism means “not two”, which means “one”. it is the belief that we are everything, everything comes from us. there is no separation or gap between “us” & “others”. following this line of thinking, there is no separation between “us” & “what we want”. it is only our perception that dictates reality.
still with me? okay, good!
descartes. he doubted his senses. he doubted his memories & perception. he doubted the “external world”. which left him with: “i think therefore i am.” he believed in his own existence being real. (this is only part of his philosophy, which is why i specified only “a sprinkle”.)
so, if descartes believed in his own existence, and we apply non-dualism: we exist, everything comes from within us, and everything exists thanks to us.
now, shifting. if everything comes from within us, and our senses lie to us, who is to say that we are not in our desired reality already? right now, at this very moment? the answer is: nobody! exactly. congrats, you’re everywhere rn.
if it is only our perception that dictates the reality we perceive, then—how do we do that? this is where awareness comes in. this is where we shift (ha) our inner thinking. this is where we assume. it is not necessarily drowning out doubts by repeatedly affirming “i am in my desired reality” and whatnot until you drive yourself insane. you are not convincing yourself. it is the inner knowing, holding the assumption that, “yes, i am already where i want to be.” you are changing your camera lens to see what you want to see.
so, thea, what the fuck is “holding the assumption”?
imagine this: you are in a blizzard. you are holding onto the rope as you walk, so you don’t get blown away or lost. the rope is your assumption (that you are in your desired reality). the blizzard is everything else—doubts, deceiving senses, etc etc. (in joel miller voice:) now you hold onto that goddamn rope !!!!!! i don’t mean constantly remind yourself you’re holding it as you walk. it’s just part of getting to your destination through the blizzard. also don’t fight/hate the blizzard, it is just There™, we ignore and we hold the rope line.
(also i say “getting to your destination” but in shifting, you are already there. let’s just put it as the blizzard obscuring your vision & you think you’re far from your destination but actually you already arrived. yup!)
bottom line is: be nonchalant (optional), hold the line of assumption, disregard everything else. disregard, not pretend it doesn’t exist. the blizzard is there but also fuck it we ball. are you letting a blizzard stop you ??? NO! what is a blizzard against the indomitable human will (aka persistence)? NOTHING !!!!!
& please note: this is not written with the intention of being a momentary burst of motivation, or of being a bright inspiration. i want you to put the phone down & think. my explanation is malleable. mold it & re-word it to how you yourself would understand it best, until it clicks into place. or ask !! and we will brainstorm !!
