Hi, I've started this ff a bit ago. It's still a WIP, but I doubt I'll come back to it any time soon, if ever.
I've lost the momentum for it and have moved on to other projects.
Yet, I have spent my time and efforts on it, and feel bad leaving it to root in a WordDoc.
Enjoy these 500 Words of medieval homophobia + fluff <3

The room had gone quiet around them. Rain dripped softly outside the window.
Matthew's head rested on Fritzâs shoulder. His steady breathing filled his ear.
There were some habits that they allowed each other only in private. Their closeness came easily behind closed doors, lingering touches, quiet kisses, reaching for each other without thinking.
Fritz held Matthews' hand loosely in his lap, brushing over his knuckles. Gentle. In a way, neither of them would have thought it possible of him before.Â
The door suddenly swung open. Andrew burst inside, «I just got a-»
He stopped immediately, the moment he laid eyes on the two men. Completely forgetting his original reason for bursting in.
«Christ,» Andrewâs expression twisted in disgust. «I knew you two were fucked up.» Then he turned and left just as quickly. Slamming the door behind him.
The slam of the door jolted Matthew awake. He sleepily straightens up, his back cracking. «What happened?»
Fritz turned to him, tightening the grip on his hand. «Weâre in deep shit, aye.»
They make their way downstairs, entering the inn. Determined to talk their way out of this.
The inn was fully empty, except for Andrew sitting at one of the desks, with the important news themselves next to him. Â
Henry, his face puzzled and posture stiff.
«I know how this may look,-» Matthew starts, but canât even finish the first sentence before Andrew interrupts him.
«Sit down,» his tone dismisive, he clearly made up his mind about everything already. «I thought y'all were acting weird,  always a bit too close.»Â
«No, you have it completely w-»
«I know what I saw, and I bet that isnât the most disgusting thing the two of you do, is it?»Â
Instinctively, they both look away, Â their faces flushing red. A clear tell that Andrew is right.
He has already connected all the dots; there's no way of convincing him of the opposite.
«You two could hang for this. Or worse. »Â
They donât respond; instead, they just sit there like children getting scolded.
«Do you two idiots understand what happens to men accused of this? » heâs angry, but his tone is lined with fear as well. «I donât want this bullshit in my inn, I have enough problems of my own.»Â
He stands up to leave, still cursing as he goes. «Be glad Iâm not cruel enough to report this.»
When heâs gone, theyâre left only with Henry sitting across from them. The wheels still turning inside his head. «Is it true what he said? That youâŠÂ»
Matthew looks at Henry, not nodding, nor denying. But his eyes tell the whole story.
«I.. But why?» He is uncomfortable with the images of his friends as lovers, but mostly confused. «Why do such a risky thing?»
Finally, Matthew speaks again. «It just felt correct.» Fritz stayed silent beside him.
«I donât want to see you two killed.» Heâs worried, Matthew and Fritz weren't always the best of friends to him. But he still canât bear the thought of losing them.
The rain outside had stopped, though none of them noticed.

Yeah, I'm not even sure where I would have taken this, a "breaking up out of fear and making their way back to each other" story feels like smt that might drag on.
But we'll see. Maybe one day that will be exactly what I'll crave.
