earthly and the heavenly , the low and the high
Yesterday I came across your Gormenghast art and I was so in love with your depictions of the characters that I sent the art to my friends who don't know the books but have heard of them through me. And then I realized one of the Steerpike drawings was possibly ahem suggestive and I was so close to making a sideblog called fuchsia-grooooooan or something so I could jokingly ask about it. No need to answer to any of this and please forgive me if the interest in that picture on its own is inappropriate, but I was also genuinely curious since I don't think I had ever seen Steerpike out of all characters in any depiction that showed him lusting for anything besides power. If you want to tell me more I am all ears, but if not, I hope at least my words brought a little smile to your face. Thank you for sharing the lovely art, I for sure will stalk your blog a little now.
Hahaha no, it doesn't embarrass me at all that you're asking. It actually really delighted and amused me. The drawing really is ambiguous, and you're right, Steerpike craves only his own validation in every sense.
But I was interested in thinking about him from a somewhat... sexualized side as well.... And no, he's not with Fuchsia there.
And thank you for the kind words about my art!

modern au Instead of a monastery, something like a voluntary-mandatory rehab retreat for overcoming addictions and more. With a strong spiritual/religious bent
Have you read the name of the rose???
1. I absolutely adore medieval studies.
2. I love Umberto Eco
!Especially! Baudolino, The Name of the Rose, and The Prague Cemetery
And Foucault’s Pendulum too
3. So, naturally, the answer is yes.
(if you love The Name of the Rose, you absolutely have to read Baudolino)
old arts huh
(books and other media about monks and nuns are my guilty pleasure)
