@why-animals-do-the-thing did this bear learn to play like that all on his own, or was it trained to do so? Perhaps it was part of a circus before being taken in by a zoo?
We don’t have really any way to know. It looks like it’s a bear that was (and may still be) living at a zoo in Japan. This seems to be the original footage, although it’s not the earliest YouTube upload. If anyone can figure out what zoo, I’d be really interested in seeing if we can find some news article about the bear - there must be some, after it went viral, since apparently this clip made it onto MSNBC’s Fact or Fiction.
