Maxwell found him when his sanity was pretty low, Wilson gave him his full name. His name shortened is just Chester and hes the best when we’re out exploring and need some place to put extra stuff. 

Apparently Clefairy was originally going to be the official Pokemon mascot. That means the first episode of the anime could have been about a bratty and uncooperative Clefairy instead of Pikachu, and I’m sad we all had to miss out on that.
