“Please, just…say something. Anything.”

She hadn’t believed him to be real. Truly, in her mind, she imagined the being before her to be made purely of imagination or madness. The last thing she expected was for him to move and put something physical around her. But the instant the coat touched her shoulders, realization hit her like a ton of bricks. Pupils blew wide open and shock changed her expressionless face.  He was… real. Wheatley was actually there before her. He wasn’t a mirage… 

Wheatley was half-tempted to turn and walk away. After all, she seemed intent on giving him only silence for a response no matter what he said, but... he’d done enough running away. Enough turning his back. He owed it to her to stand here and wait out her silence; to take whatever vicious anger she harbored for him. She deserved the chance to take it out on him after what he’d done, and so he would patiently remain here until she was through with him. Folding slender hands behind his back, the half-human bowed his head like a kicked puppy. And he waited.

Send me “It's okay,” for my muse to react to your muse wrapping their arms them and telling them this.

“Please, just…say something. Anything.”

What had he expected? This was a question he could not answer. Even he had no idea how he'd thought his dear Shada would respond to him popping back into existence after such a prolonged absence. Had he thought she'd be happy, greeting him with joyful tears and hugs? Not really Had he expected her to scream? To throw things and tell him to get out and stay gone? Well, that had seemed a shred more likely, but still not quite right.. Who knows what he had thought would greet him upon his return, but whatever it was.. He had not been prepared for silence. His explanation had been greeted with empty air, no answer, no rage or joy.. His apologies had fallen ;in the same way, like weights falling through the air between them. After a while of talking, Wheatley, the bot who'd been made for chatter, successfully ran out of things to say. And so he plead with he for some sort of response, and was offered only an observation. As if he even deserved that...
