Good old-fashioned Sierra deadly staircases. Can you imagine doing this without the diagonal keys on a number pad?

Did you know that Infocomβs βtext adventureβ games can be found on tablets and mobile devices for free? Infocom was founded 39 years ago, today and is responsible for bringing us text adventures, which were unique in terms of game play. Players are given scenarios in text form to which they must respond in written commands such as βgo northβ or βuse showerβ to progress. Since the games were in all text format, Infocom was able to easily release them on popular home computers like the Apple II, Atari 800, Commodore 64β¦ Infocomβs text-based games were sold in book stores and so were their hint books (#InvisiClues), which were best-sellers in the computer books genre. Some Infocom games came with maps, invisible ink messages, or props like scratch and sniff cards that would help players solve mysteries and progress the story, which makes them interesting We not only to play, but also to collect. What is your favorite #Infocom game?

A collection of photos of my IIe from November of 2018, captioned for your convenience.
November 6th, 2018. My IIe boots to DOS 3.3 for the first time in thirty-odd years
November 17th, 2018. An ascii slot machine program I wrote in applesoft BASIC, the only existing footage was lost in 2019 when the channel I was hosting it on was deleted, but the program is still on a 5ΒΌ" disk buried in storage. Remember kids, archival is important.
November 18th, 2018. A hi-res moire pattern program that I copied out of the applesoft BASIC guide, included with the II+
November 3rd, 2018. Playing the double hi-res version of the original Temple of Apshai, off of the Temple of Apshai Collection
November 4th, 2018. Last but not least; Infocom's famous Zork. The classic text adventure game. Yes, this is a cracked disk I wrote myself.
