I was sent to Albany today to retrieve some new supplies, which was a great experience. The Zenger Trial was something I'd read about. Someone called John Peter Zenger falsely threatened Governor William Cosby and the corrupt government and was imprisoned in a libel suit for his ridiculous acts.However, Andrew Hamilton defended him during his appeal, and as a result, the trial was successful, and now newspaper writers are expected to write more honestly. I'm happy this happened because now we can be more educated of what's going on in the world because it's more truthful and factual. This was something I told my wife about, and she agreed. We would still be reading the lies written in the newspaper if Zenger hadn't stepped in and written the truth.

Oh, no! Today's devastating storm has left my prized land in ruins, with the plants drowning in the overflowing pools of rainwater. I rushed over to the flour mill to double-check the condition of the packaging. The sight in front of me astounded me as soon as I arrived.One of my lowly slaves was there, drenched in flour from the now-damaged packaging, which was expected to be delivered to England the next day. She stared at me, her face flushed with surprise. I pulled her back to the house and whipped her until the early hours of the morning.The other slaves undoubtedly became more aware and wary of their actions in the future as they watched her suffer her well-deserved punishment. I sighed irritably before ordering a few of the slaves to return to the mill and grind more wheat in order to produce more flour before the shipments were due.These slaves are so inefficient that I sometimes wonder what they're actually good for. I used to have indentured servants, but they were a nightmare to keep track of. We had to pay for their transportation here, provide them with a salary, food, and lodging, and they could only work for a specified amount of time, as stipulated in their contract. Slavery is more effective since slaves work for free and for the rest of their wretched lives.Life has been much more fruitful now that I have slaves working for me, and I've been able to afford more equipment and other things for my plantation and family. Finally, forget about indentured servants; owning slaves will save you time and money.

Since Mary was still sick, I was in control of bringing the kids to school today. Having them ready to leave was surprisingly stressful; I'm not sure how my wife manages on a daily basis. It took a long time, but they were soon all ready to be trained. As a result, I sent them to school. It was midday by then, and my usual farming time had been cut in half. Before picking up my kids from school and taking them home, I spent the rest of the day in the fields. They told me about what they had learned in classes. Christopher and Matthew were taught common courtesy. Isabella and Martha learned to speak, while Rosanna, the older sister, received additional prayer instruction. Mary and I were both impressed by how much they had learned. But she hasn't gotten any better, and the baby is due in less than a month! Mary and the baby are causing my children and me much worry. Please pray for my wife's swift recovery and the safe delivery of my next child!

Another good harvest day! I've gathered a range of crops that will provide us with enough food for the next 2-4 years! Bread, peas, pumpkins, grain, and potatoes were among the many products available. We'll never go hungry again! I'd also like to apologize for my recent lack of involvement, as my wife's baby is due soon, but she's been very sick, and harvesting season is approaching. Things have been very hectic. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for my mom. On the plus side, harvesting has been outstanding this year. Some farms, on the other hand, were not so lucky. The majority of their plants were either stolen or burned. Hard work and vigilance are the two most critical elements of farming life. If the farm is properly cared for, it won't be long before it is gone to waste.One of the key reasons I spend the bulk of my time in the fields, and why you should as well, is because of this.

My wife was teaching my daughters, Isabella, Rosanna, and Martha, how to sew today, while I was teaching my sons, Christopher and Matthew, how to work in the fields, as they will be inheriting this land when I retire. This was an excellent opportunity for me to explain to my sons what it takes to be a good farmer and true gentleman. They were overjoyed to learn how I took care of the crops and received shillings to help support the family. Matthew was more interested in how I sell my crops to the people than Christopher was in how to tend and care for the crops and raise the animals. I'm particularly proud of my sons and their current efforts, which will lead them to become great, successful men in the future. My daughters presented me with this beautifully made scarf, red in color and smooth in cloth, when I returned home. I loved the scarf's rich color and warmth as I wore it. I'm still very proud of my girls, who have come a long way, and I can't wait to see them blossom into remarkable women.

Friends from some of the farms not far south of where I live suggested that I follow the trend of describing a day in my life. They were extremely irritating and constantly persuaded me to follow the latest new trends. As a consequence, we've arrived at this stage. When I first wake up in the morning, I begin watering my field plants and feeding the few livestock that I still have. We had plenty of cattle, but those wretched people looted the bulk of our prized possessions. Curse those illiterate knuckleheads! That's just one of the many frustrations that come with living in the middle colonies.After tending to my plants and animals, the flour packages are then transported to England for shipment. Then, normally, my wife will send my children to school to be taught, but if she is unable to do so, I will have to do so. Later, I sell my crops for shillings to help support my family. However, I spend the majority of my time in the fields, ensuring that the crops are growing well and in good shape. We grow some of the best potatoes, pumpkins, peas, and overall crops because my land has some of the richest and most fertile soil in the colonies. The tobacco and low-quality crops of the southern colonies pale in contrast to our new, high-quality produce. On Sundays, our family even goes to church on occasion. I even engage in horse races and shooting events on weekends. In horse-racing events, I'm a natural winner, taking first place almost every time. However, I fail in shooting competitions because my aim and balance aren't the best. These outings are still fun, and they offer an opportunity for me to meet new people.My wife often loves attending weaving competitions on occasion, and she often carries back the most unique woven pieces she makes while she is there. Every day is a new day, but this is just an example of a normal day in my life.
