Welcome to my Robert Angier roleplay and fanpage! This is a character from the (terribly underrated) 2006 movie "The Prestige" starring Hugh Jackman (Robert Angier) and Christian Bale (Alfred Borden). I will answer any questions given in character (to the best of my abilities)! I do believe this is original, as I haven't been able to find another Prestige ask blogs at all. but the Ask Blog concept is definitely not mine!
You do not need to know anything about the story to roleplay with me, but I would highly, highly recommend watching it. It's genuinely an amazing movie.
All you need to know, is that Robert Angier (stage name: the Great Danton) is an amazing well-renowned magician who is known for doing the impossible.
MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW!!!

Basics of his story, Angier had a wife named Julia, a friend named Alfred (known by his last name, Borden), and a mentor figure known as Cutter. Borden ambitiously made a magic trick more difficult for Julia, and ends up getting her killed by drowning. Angier resents him for this and they split apart, trying to rival each other in their magic shows, always trying to out do the other.
Through lots of twists, Angier manages to find Nikola Tesla, who has been rumoured to have a machine that can do real magic. After not thinking the machine is working for a long while, Angier realises eventually that the machine can clone anything put into it.
He uses this for his act, and clones himself, killing the clone each night to make it look like he's teleporting.
His former friend, now turned mortal rival, Borden, ends up killing him. Revealing something that shocked Angier to his core, giving him the final upper hand. He finds all the dead bodies of Angier's clones, but in my AU, one of these clones managed to somehow live. Escape. So now, The Great Danton lives. And he regained the memories of every Robert Angier to live.

• Has major trust issues and struggles to make real connections anymore.
• Tries to dress his best as much as he can. Suit and top hat, all the time.
• Has gotten over his Wife's death, is now more focused on Borden and making sure he never has the upper hand.
• don't know how to phrase it other than toxic yaoi. He and Borden don't know it but they've become so obsessed with beating the other they've developed feelings they don't want.
