Le sigh, soooo. 

It’s come to my attention that there are folks on f-list that are gonna steal art and use it for their characters, edit art poorly to use it for them, etc. This site is riddled with so much art theft that there’s no way anyone can keep on their toes every waking moment for it. I’ve gone out of my way to report users to the original character owners and artists of their work being used without their permission on my own, and f-list mods have been gracious enough to quickly remove art and warn users for stealing said art as well, mostly because they’re being used by poorly written schmucks who just want a quick e!fuck within the next five minutes to go jump back on their games or whatever.

But this? This is too much. I’ve found not only a base user on f-list, but a base user who refuses to acknowledge they are using bases for their artwork in the first place. While I’m normally not one to rally the troops, I’ve politely messaged them and left comments on their page about their abuse of bases and lack of sourcing them, and instead of responding back in a mature manner, they quickly ran to delete the evidence of what information I’d sent, and even when I publicly left a comment on their page, they immediately deleted it.

Their dA page is riddled with base work, and it’s obviously traced detailing for clothing on commission work, too, or at least heavily referenced and definitely not sourced work that they are charging money for without telling their customers. Not only that, they’ve got a GINORMOUS folder with nothing but bases. I would understand if they’re eyeballing the bases as reference and sourcing them, but no, even their traditional sketches are basically just eyeballed screenshots and bases, or even print outs of bases and then rescanned. I’ve seen it so many times with artists on dA, but this is ridiculous.

This user refuses to acknowledge the proper etiquette for base use or referencing, and thus I have to warn others of this incident. I hate doing call out posts, I really do, but it is fairly obvious that this user has zero intention of ever mentioning their art is traced / based / heavily referenced / eyeballed / obviously not their own work.
