The Eros and Psyche project

Some stories never end, they even allow you to come back at any given time and take tiny peeks at the everyday lives of your heroes.

The loud crushing noises alarmed Psyche. She looked questioningly at Euterpe, who stared at her blankly.

“Stupid wings! Stupid arrows!”

She sighed. “I’d better go find him.”

She passed the nurse on her way who rolled her eyes at her. “So full of drama, that boy; just like his mother.”

“Nurse,” Psyche warned lovingly.

“Stupid bow!”

The nurse smiled raised her eyebrows in reply. “Good luck, child.”

Psyche took a deep breath and entered the disarrayed room. Feathers were flying all over, pieces of broken vases and arrows were scattered all over the floor, and Eros was bending his bow, trying to break it.

Psyche rushed to his side, trying to calm him down.

“Love, what’s wrong?”

He dropped the bow forcefully to the floor. “I’m done with this! Tomorrow I am giving everything back to my mother.”

She picked up a feather. “There won’t be much to give back, if you keep this up.”

“I don’t care.”

She took his hand in hers, trying to soothe him. “Tell me what happened.”

“I’ve been trying to make a couple fall in love with each for almost a month now! Can you imagine? A month! But I either keep missing them, or making them fall for other people, and then I have to shoot them again with the silver arrows, in order to undo it!”

“Do they know each other?”

“They pass each other on the street daily.”

“That’s it!?”

“Well, yes.”

“And what makes them such a great match?”

Eros shrugged. “They look good together.”

“Seriously? That’s how you match people together?”

“More or less, yes. But if they already know each other, that helps a great deal.”

“What happens if they are in love with other people?”

“I don’t break up people who are already in love,” Eros replied indignantly.

Psyche smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “I know you don’t.”

For the first time, Eros cracked a smile. “I think I am going to need a new set of wings.”

“Most likely,” Psyche agreed. “And some arrows too.”

“What am I going to tell my mother?”
