Christians? Or Hypocrites?:
The life of a Christian will always be a mystery,
From thee outside perspective,
Our lives are centered around an old story.
Placing faith in the Unknown,
Talking to the Unseen,
Looking towards the Unshown.
When I see the color red,
I wonder why that's the symbol of love,
Then, I think back to 2,000 years,
To the bloodshed.
To the one with the nature of a dove.
Who'd heal one of the enemy servant's ears.
Jesus loved like no other,
Not even a father, sister, mother, or brother.
As Christians we strive to follow,
The example of love He gave,
But like Him? We can never behave.
We speak of love to one another,
Saying we ought to love like Him,
Yet, unlike Him, we always shun them.
Humans who're just like us,
Ones that have convictions of their own,
Even though God, they've probably never known.
So many who've mocked and slandered,
Claim that to God, they have sweetly surrendered.
The Lord I know,
Ate with the publicans and sinners,
Spoke to the Romans and Samaritans,
And yet, that lesson we choose to forego.
Yes, Christians are strange,
Because of how two-faced we can be,
Condemning others' sins,
While also sinning quite comfortably.
Many of us claim to love God's word,
Yet never read it,
Self discipline? Oh, don't be absurd.
Viewing the Lord's guidance as optional,
And picking on the standards of others,
Offended by the loyalty of sisters or brothers.
The label 'Christian' isn't about Christ, now,
They make it about their church,
Yet if you hint at it, at you they'll launch.
"A Christian's duty is at church!"
I'm tired of this,
Fellowship anymore is a hit and miss.
I keep searching for like mindedness,
People who have convictions,
While trying to avoid a colossal mess.
I'm a Christian who lives solely for Christ,
Otherwise, I would've already been out,
With all this hypocrisy, no wonder some doubt.
-- Poetess
Changes:
So many life-changing decisions,
Up-rooting from the only life I've known,
Placing faith in the Lord's will, for it, He's shown.
Back and forth this topic goes,
Where to go? What if we're unable? Is it stable?
Stress in the eyes of those around me,
The ones I love, who dwell with me.
We all know God will provide, He always has!
For the Lord God Almighty can surpass.
It's a small favor to Him, and for us?
We must trust, for we know His unfailing status.
As for why all this life-altering splendor...
You may have heard of the data center.
-- Poetess
Patience:
I'm feeling restless, a heart-pull,
Sometimes tugging, though veiled in mystery,
And I have doubts... can a heart have a hole?
It's painful to wait in patience,
While you feel that love-tug,
And I wish desperately you're here, if just in a hug.
Will I meet you someday? ( Who Knows? )
How long until God shows you the way?
I'm lonesome, a yearning ache within,
But settling for anyone isn't an option,
I choose to wait, to wait for my companion.
I see so many around me find their match,
Yet I refuse to be desperate, to be a catch.
For I've seen those with that ending also,
It's a life of woe.
So here I wait,
Keeping company with my own mind,
I pray God to make me worthy,
A treasure for you someday to find.
But I wish that God had made this easier,
What fun it'd be for you and me?
To have a system of communication,
To pass this dry, lonely season.
All is foolish talk, I know,
I just need more patience,
Perhaps more time to spiritually grow.
At this point my heart-felt sorrow has drained,
And even though I feel better, I'm still pained.
It's like at times, I'm just existing,
While trying to ignore that something's missing.
Half of my soul is stuck with you,
And yet, I know I'm perfectly whole,
But God knows all from above, He sees the real view.
I'll take peace in knowing that, too,
The Lord has the our life-map, giving direction to you.
"Be still, and know that I am God,"
Now flip that around and see,
His hidden presence for me.
"God am I that know, and still be."
-- Poetess
Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
A Forgotten Sword:
I always seem to crumble in defeat,
Later I found out why I lost the fight,
Well, I lost my sword... what a feat.
How can I hope to ever win?
When I constantly misplace something,
Forgetting God's gift to me from within.
Isn't it odd? That it's only now I found out?
Prayer when done correctly is a weapon,
Our King gave it, take it and slay the doubt!
Yet on the frontline we see our enemy's chains,
Such an accessory, could it be yours to gain?
Stopping mid-fight with the foe,
'Cause we want to know.
Asking if you could have it in red or blue,
Soon your neck is laden with chains in every hue,
Mindless to the fact that it's poisoning you.
But before you fall into clutches dark,
You feel that conviction, a Godly spark.
We need to pray through the temptations,
Seek the Lord's help, His guidance,
He's your Friend, the best of companions!
That gentle Ruler will care for you,
It's a promise Jesus made,
A pledge that He'll see it through.

Life At Sea:
Too many distractions, so many glances,
All done while on a rocking ship,
I lost my footing, making me slip.
Many times in life we lose focus,
Memorized by the waves crashing,
Heedless to the lightning flashing.
And those beautiful waves we see,
It's masking deadly demons within the sea.
So careless of the spiritual storms,
Taking our security in Christ for granted,
We fall into evil clutches, siren's call enchanted.
Waters so cold, now embracing me,
Fear and dread chilling me to the bone,
Why did I do it? I should have known.
But those beautiful waves... so entrancing,
I allowed myself to be pulled into the deep,
And all this happened, just by glancing.
When I feel myself being engulfed,
Slowly drowning in old sins, spiritual harm,
A loving hand grasps my arm.
Drawing me to that safe shore,
I find I'm in the ocean no more.
A fire is kindled for me,
Seeing to my hypothermic needs,
All this the Master does,
Without charging a single fee.
"What made you leave this time?"
This time... yes, I've done this before,
I'm surprised I'm still allowed to explore.
But my heavenly Father won't do oppression,
He knows I'll learn from my mistakes,
"I don't know... the ocean?"
"And what gave you that desire?"
Nostalgia of the waves, revisitation felt dire.
But now I know the sea isn't for me,
Too many demons lay below,
Life on the waves is a risk that's not free.
"Try the fountain of life, next time." Jesus says, eyes gazing at me so kind,
"The waters are gentle.
I created them with your safety in mind."

Kindred Spirits:
A friend loveth at all times,
One that is true and constant,
Though the connection may not be instant.
The beautiful simplicity of a 'heart to heart',
That immediate closeness,
Even when oceans and worlds apart.
Though we don't view life the same,
Biblical, rare qualities shines through you,
Astounding me, unbeknownst to you.
We're different in our own way,
But you're dear to me, forever and alway.
Our friendship reminds me of a story,
David and Jonathan comes to mind,
For that bond, nowhere else can I find.
Often times it feels more like a plea,
When I ask God to draw you to Him,
Like He so kindly did to me.
Some may take offense at the thought,
Probably caused many to have faught.
But I still pray for you, not in a degrading way,
I want you to experience God's love,
His comfort, both night and day.
Prayer should never be an insult,
It just doesn't seem right,
Would a friend be despised for having
A friend go to a king for help?
For insight?
For me, prayer is an audience,
Speaking with the King of Kings,
And He always answers, even if it stings.
You are, in His eyes,
Worth more than ten thousand worlds,
And I see it too, for your friendship is a prize.
-- Poetess
Proverbs 17:17 (KJV)
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Perfect Timing:
Some friends are imaginary,
Then there're friendships kept from view.
However you, dearest one,
Are extraordinary, making my heart go askew.
Companion of the heart, soulmate of mine,
One-sided letters to you,
Fills me with sunshine.
Many of days I confide to you,
In journals set far from view.
I'm sure it's a childish perspective,
But child-like I'd gladly be,
To feel like you're here for me.
I know not a trait about you,
Just that God had my needs in mind,
When He created my lifelong friend, so defined.
Christ-like character,
It makes me feel protected,
For the Lord so selected.
I can only hope,
With genuine tenderness of someone due,
That I am what is needed of you.
I'm loving and caring, or so I'm told,
Yet even that can't fight off the cold.
I have flaws, we all do...
But what if I'm not wise enough for you?
Surely in Christ we can always grow,
A good amount of homemaking skills I know.
Once again, that deep-seeded fear climbs up,
What if I fail you so much, that I just give up?
Then it's around this moment I know,
Satan, our deadly foe, crept in unknown.
Why listen to him,
When I have God's guidance living within?
The Lord's will is perfect, timing He bides,
Perhaps, this is why I'm not yet by your side.
-- Poetess
Trusting You:
When life feels incomplete,
I kneel at Your feet.
May I always remember to come to You,
Lord, please draw me closer to You.
Sometimes this world drains my strength,
Temptations after trials around me gather,
Spiritual stress causes this soul to wither.
And perhaps all this isolation of the heart,
Is due to not seeking Your grace in this part.
I am but a lonesome child,
Whose Father found wondering in the wild.
You calmed my pain with tender hands,
Soothing my wounds,
Brushing away dangled strands.
A few years has passed since that day,
Occasionally I hear that fox tempting me to stray.
At times I walk up to the wilderness' edge,
Foolishly remembering only the luscious hedge.
Then the full memories floods in,
As if a gentle voice saying not to cave within.
Give me contentment in You,
Jesus, You're that heavenly view.
My Father, Friend, and Guide,
Dear Lord, always keep me near Your side.
-- Poetess
Two Hearts:
To know your embrace,
And see that smiling face.
The tenor of your voice,
If I could catch a glimpse of you and
Note the choice.
Could laws defy a love from me to you?
Well, perhaps, but please envision
This lovesick view.
With words so grand and fine,
It doesn't cure the heart to pine.
Two hearts made to be one,
Yet our encounters, so far, have been none.
If only our paths would cross,
I'd feel like life wasn't so dull and dross.
Oh! But back to that beautiful view,
When God places me in front of you.
That first kiss,
It's my romantic heart's secret wish.
When the vail is raised by your hand,
I'll see that glittering wedding band.
"For I am yours, and you are mine."
With this Godly love our life will shine.
I am sick with love,
It reminds me of a pair of doves,
Two sweet loves.
And though we are kept apart,
It's no issue for a faithful heart.
