Gunnar Brightforge is the Fire Giant Sultan of the Elemental Plane of Fire. He stole the throne from Wisp’s mom, presumably with the help of the devils who are now occupying the plane. I cannot wait to kick his ass.
According to my DM, he’s a samurai fighter because… I took inspiration for his original look from Robert Z’dar in Samurai Cop. As he evolved, we threw in some Governor Scott from RRR and a bit of Twilight Princess Ganondorf as well.

Wisp and Hogar reunited and caught up after multiclassing as an Artificer and Blood Hunter, respectively, and Hogar got to know Biatrix (and Tootie) a little better.

Wisp found out session before last that her parents are the Queen of Stars (the missing Fire Plane princess/daughter of a goddess bird from space) and the King of Crows (one of the rulers in the Shadowfell). That, plus literally freeing her god earlier in the campaign, means the above statement is factually correct.
