Seong Taehoon who never cared about love. It’s not that he had some bad experience with it. His parents were happily married and took good care of him despite his bratty attitude. He simply guessed it would come eventually, or it would not. Didn’t matter a bit to him, when he was busy training. And training hard he did. Winning taekwondo national championships, finally going into the MMA… He had become this strength-obsessed teenage boy.
Seong Taehoon who, after his traumatizing loss to Munseong, alongside being under the pressure of many rumours and criticism, left the professional fighting world all together. Taekwondo would maybe never ever be recognized as a proper fighting sport. Proof was, some dumbasses outside the classroom were commenting on the latest rising channel of V-tube, Viral Hit. Saying even some Yoo Hobin could beat a professional taekwondo fighter after seeing his last video. So, needless to say, he was surprised when he first heard you shouting at those guys. This incident happened a few days after he lost to Hobin, so he was hesitating on getting up from his seat and beating them up.
Seong Taehoon who couldn’t believe his eyes. You were telling them off, saying taekwondo was the best martial art. With such conviction and passion too. Those boys ended up running away, wondering what the heck this new transfer girl was going on about. Everybody (dumbasses) knew taekwondo wasn’t good enough, right ? After this incident, he sure found you interesting.
Seong Taehoon who had never been interested in the many gorgeous girls constantly asking him out, had instead taken some sort of liking to you instantly. He went to your seat as you were making friends and slammed his foot on the table. The other students scurried away in fear, used to his shenanigans, while you looked at him in pure confusion. Taehoon asked you if you had 500 wons. And when you said you wouldn’t give them to some bully, he kind of fell for you even harder. He liked people with conviction, with that look in their eyes. Kinda like the "loser" who defeated him. From that point on, he was basically following you anytime anywhere.
Seong Taehoon, who would just take you away randomly, to hang out at the arcade or go to the dojang. When you’re at the arcade and battle it out in Tekken, you manage to beat his Hwoarang. So he makes you buy his beer in cans for his own petty satisfaction. It’s illegal, but the cashier at the convenience store knows damn well what will happen if he crosses the famous tyrant of Gangbuk High School. You guys skip school together, get in trouble together… Your friends from school swear they have never seen him being friends with someone like that. You two soon become a package deal. However, he’s the one doing the fighting whenever trouble arises. He complains about how useless you are, but really, he’s worried about your safety. Soon enough, you learn how to the infamous back kick.
Seong Taehoon, who when teaching you some self defense taekwondo techniques, forgot his dad would be back at the dojang soon. You’re so excited to meet the legend, Seong Hansu. But his dad already knows about you and teases his son for it. You had never seen Taehoon’s face red like this despite his paleness. Sounds like someone talks a lot about you. His dad is secretly glad someone like you is walking side by side with his son.
Seong Taehoon who finally came to the dramatic realization : you’ve taken a big place in his life. Why can’t he get you out of his mind ? What if you affect his taekwondo ? He would never let that happen. He doesn’t even think about love, since he thinks it’s still a feeling he’s far from reaching. Yet again, you’re the type of person he’s weak for. Kind and brave, not hesitating to stand up for what you think. You live according to your own rules. Yeah… After all, if you weren’t like this, an accident like that one could happen again… And he doesn’t want to think about it.
Seong Taehoon who tells you all about his opponents and fights, since you’re so curious, and he kind of wants to subtly brag ; Kim Munseong and their long time "rivalry", Seong Yohan the prodigy, Yoo Hobin who’s now kind of his student… You smile at him knowingly. Those two are going to be the best of friends, eventually. He catches your smile and gets all up in his feelings. "Hey, do you want to die ?"
Seong Taehoon who never introduced you to the group, despite complaining (really, talking with a slight smile) so much about their antics. So when Rumi suggest to pull a prank on him for the viewers and shows up at the dojang with everyone else, Hobin, Snapper, Gaeul, Manki… It is one heck of a surprise. Taehoon… Actually has a friend ? And it’s a girl ? The chat goes crazy. Him ? He’s torn between being annoyed or embarrassed by the situation. "What, I can’t make friends ?" he asks. "Ha ha, no I would never insinuate that, Taehoon…" Hobin is already bowing down, and the chat is also apologizing. "We’re sorry, Taehoon !" "I’ll log into the stream with my mom’s user instead." "You’re all fucked." "He can’t he really beat us all up in real life, can he ?" Just how terrifying your new friend is ? Seems like it’s hard to believe for them all that he’s got you now.
Seong Taehoon who sighs as everyone takes a liking to you. He thinks you’re all too nice and chummy. Yuck. At first, when Hobin and Snapper want to invite you to a group hang out, he complains about how you wouldn’t even like it (you totally will, he just doesn’t want to get teased when you’re here). Then, when Rumi and Gaeul plan a girl’s night with you, he frowns. Finally, when the sweet Manki tries his luck with you, he isn’t fazed. Or at least, he tries to seem unfazed.
Seong Taehoon who is having thousands of thoughts at the minute, is a bit nervous for some reason, and he sends you texts (for once, not asking you to get somewhere), asking what answer you gave to Manki. Of course, he wouldn’t be mad if you got together with him, but… He would mind it… For some reason… Some big unknown reason. You’re his friend, right ? You can’t possibly go with some other guy. But then, he doesn’t care if anyone else of the friend group goes out with someone. So you’re different. And he’s now flustered.
Seong Taehoon who instantly reacts when his phone shows the notification of your text. He grabs it and reads quickly. "Stop spamming, I literally declined his confession. Manki’s really a great guy tho. I’m rooting for him to find his love." He sighed of relief. And instantly felt ashamed. Why was he relieved ?! He texted back. "Come at the dojang." "Why ??? It’s 10PM, Taehoon." "Come." He just wants to see you. He wants to confirm something. Meanwhile, you got dressed and headed out.
Seong Taehoon, who, when he saw you enter the dojang, couldn’t look at you in your eyes. You took notice and started poking him around, asking what was up with him. Why ask you to come so late ? He finally managed to look into your eyes. And that’s when he knew. When Taehoon knew that, yeah, maybe he did like you after all.
