DreamWalkers

Rage/Xicohtencatl (just call him Xi) is one of Anger’s mites who has mutated to develop discernible speech and critical thinking. Having followed Anger into the Void without his knowledge, Sorrow found him and nursed him well to be able to survive in the Void. His personality is spastic, but usually borders on frustration or juvenile curiosity. He boasts a witty attitude and elevated intelligence, but this is often times ignored in favor of his explosive rage fits.

Stress/Amicus is a useful tool for Sorrow. He was created randomly, using residue from all four Masked DreamWalkers plus Courage. There’s never a time for relaxation when it comes to Stress, as he needs to keep himself busy for as long as he is able. Otherwise he succumbs to his anxiety and snaps. The only exception to this is naps with Sorrow, whom he has an obvious crush on. His personality could depend on anything from recent happenings to the alignment of the stars, as he tends to dip back and forth between them so much he makes the base emotions feel uncomfortable.

Faith/Hope and Doubt is a single concept with two minds. Hope is Faith’s feminine half, and represents a positive mindset. Doubt is Faith’s masculine half, and represents a negative mindset. They’re fairly typical for a set of twins, except that their bond is stronger than mental. Not only do they have a telepathic link to each other, but they are bound at the wrists by a long, red ribbon, which is actually part of their construct. Their appearance mimics that of a typical puppet. Faith is the result of mating between Bliss and Fear, and it is the second to be born of this type of conception.

Courage/Shuja is the byproduct/brother of Stress. In his personality, he is enigmatic and wise. However, alongside his bravery rides a core of cowardice, and he tries desperately to hide it to protect his sense of pride. Ultimately, he ends up as a companion to aid Anger in his conquests.

Sorrow/Solita is the FOURTH and final Masked DreamWalker. This incorporeal beauty is Wisdom’s second attempt at perfection, but is an obvious failure. She is, rather, the soul of what DreamWalker she was supposed to be. Sorrow is exactly what anyone could expect from a spirit: wandering and depressed with social anxiety. Fear enjoys picking on her quite a bit, and for a while Anger was the only one able to defend her. She has a huge crush on her companion, Stress.

Bliss/Aurora is the THIRD Masked DreamWalker. The first female created by Wisdom, she is supposed to represent complete perfection. However, it becomes quite evident that Wisdom’s idea of “perfection” is unrealistic, as Bliss has glaring flaws in her personality. She’s quite naive, she has little regard for her own safety, and she blatantly disobeys any orders to stay away from certain dangers. The most notable example of this is her infatuation with Fear, whom she believes has the ability to be positive.

Anger/Yrre is the SECOND Masked DreamWalker. An ever-burning flame of pure determination, his one goal in his existence is to serve Wisdom. Anger is different to all of the others: he’s self-aware, meaning he knows he was made to serve. He doesn’t let that realization weigh him down though; he uses it to fuel his head-strong and stubborn nature, and in order to give his full 110%.

Fear/NyteTerror is the FIRST Masked DreamWalker, and is sometimes referred to as the “true prince” of REM. His metaphorical bloodline is complete construct of Wisdom and Ignorance, whereas the others are simply Wisdom and a concentrated dream essence. He’s more than cold-hearted: this walking corpse barely even looks solid. However, amongst his usual trickery and teasing, he seems to have a soft spot for Bliss.

The Gate Keeper/Samara is a very sisterly and caring entity. She was created by Ignorance to be a helping hand--or six--around REM. Having lost her best friend to the “incident,” she mostly tries to keep to herself. Her mourning is evident, but her fear of confrontation doesn’t allow her to express it outwardly. The keyhole on her chest serves as the lock to the gates of REM, where the Mites reside, and can only be opened by one of her six oddly shaped hands.

Not much is to be told about Celeste or Ulyssa... Not yet.

Wisdom/The Sandman is one of two reigning gods over REM. He created all of the DreamWalkers, and manages their intake of sustenance. A fairly business-formal concept, Wisdom isn’t one you’d tell knock-knock jokes to. According to Fear, he used to be a lot happier, but his only excuse to the sudden change in Wisdom’s mood is a simple explanation consisting of “something happened to my mother,” and a request to let the topic die. This giant sand storm is rather arrogant, and never views himself in the wrong. He feels that  if he says something or believes something, it’s true. If proven wrong, he uses his power to persuade others to see him as right.
