the other day my grandma told me, “when you and him are fighting, you both need to remember that it’s you two vs. the problem, not you vs. him.” and that hit me hard

I took a “Reading and Writing in Nature” decal and we would hike somewhere, sit and write poetry, and create Land Art. I have this beautiful memory of sitting atop Grizzly Peak, overlooking Berkeley and Oakland and the Bay all the way to the Golden Gate, all of us clutching our notebooks or fashioning something out of twigs and leaves, silent and thoughtful, with the warm spring breeze blowing the long grass.
