Broadway musicals are slowly coming back in this day and age due to the horrible Covid 19 pandemic that started in late 2019. Halloween season is still carrying on this month and these are some of Broadway musicals having the haunting and / or mysterious theme of Halloween.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a sexy, horrific, comical, and bizarre film/ musical that first started as a musical in 1973. Co- written by Richard O’Brien and director Jim Sharman, it is a tribute to the 1930’s sci- fi and low- budget horror films. It focuses on an engaged young couple who was lost but found a castle on the way looking for some help. There they met new friends with sexual innuendoes and orgies at the castle with a mad scientist leader who later turned out to be a transvestite alien experimenting
The Phantom of the Opera is one of the longest running musicals in the nation. Set between late 1880s and early 1900s, it focuses on the beautiful ballet girl turned soprano Christine Daae whom became the obsession of the musical genius, bizarre, unknown masked man living in the underground lair of the Paris Opera House.
Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a haunting musical that is set in London, revenge, lust, temptation, and rage was at its best in this musical. It is the story of Benjamin Barker who adopted his alter ego name Sweeney Todd after he returned to Fleet Street seeking vengeance for his wife Lucy raped by the corrupted Judge Turpin and side-kick Beadle Bamford.
