Being in business school is amazing BUT wearing business clothes can be a little bit expensive. I remember my first suit it was a blazer and 2 pants from express. Lorde help me the total was so much that my mom ended paying for them.
Before telling yall my favorite stores to shop please appreciate today’s gif. It is Dwight from The Office wearing a pumpkin head for the spooky Halloween vibes.
1. The Cottage Shop - The cottage shop is a second-hand store that helps The Woman’s Home. It is located in Houston, TX and it is honestly my favorite place to buy work clothes. I bought a Tory Burch blouse for $15. WHAAAATTTt. To read more about their mission click here.
2. Kohl’s - Say what you want about Kohl’s but it is actually my favorite store. If you go to Kohl’s and pay full price you are not shopping correctly. Kohl’s has the most beautiful clearance section plus you can use coupons. Also, you can STACK COUPONS WITH COUPONS. It makes your clothing very affordable.
3. Clothes Mentor - Clothes Mentor is such a great place and it is very affordable. Items can range from $5 to luxury items with high $prices$ but prices that will not break the bank. I bought a blouse for $8 that is The Limited brand.
4. Gap - Actually I really love Gap. Their online clearance section is amazing. Especially when they have the 40% off discount. Wow in love. I just avoid the regular price items.

I actually love going to the gym. I do have a gym membership and I go to the gym at school (I kinda have options). I carry some stuff in my gym bag and some stuff I would honestly forget that I have it aka not an essential.
I will share the items I consider as essentials. Especially because I am kind of a newbie at this whole gymming thing. I've been going to the gym for a couple of months now and I am getting the hang of it.
I carry a Vera Bradley Duffel Bag as my gym bag. It has 3 compartments that I love and pretty much holds my stuff together.
The locker room can be a little intimidating but its ok!
This is what I carry as my "essentials"
1. DEODORANT - any brand, it's that important to carry it
2. HAIRBRUSH + HAIR TIES - Honestly I shed so much, it's ridiculous
3. INTEGRATED SUPPLEMENT WHEY PROTEIN - Helen, told me about protein and ever since I've been using it for a couple of months now

4. ENERGY BAR - I like the thinkThin protein bar in Cinnamon Bun White Chocolate. Plus if I carry it around it will give me less incentive for eating snacks (Hot Cheetos).
5. SHAMPOO + EXTRA WASH ITEMS - Never forget to shower after if you plan on going to class or work right after going hard on a workout.
6. EARPHONES - You can concentrate better and be in the zone. The music playing at the gym is not bad but I prefer listening to MY music.
7. MAKEUP BAG - Honestly, there is no shame on applying makeup after a hard earn workout.
8. EXTRA GYM CLOTHES - Anything can happen.
9. FEMININE ITEMS - Anything can happen 2.0
10. CONFIDENCE - The gym can be a scary place. Especially because people can look fit and it can be intimidating. But remember they are at the gym just like you trying to better themselves. There is nothing wrong with starting with cardio or going to the weight section. Walk to the gym with confidence and your attitude will make your workout improve. Plus you will end with a super positive attitude for the rest of the day.

Lately, I have been listening to Bodak Yellow by Cardi B. She keeps on repeating
“I MAKE MONEY MOVES”
Beyond shook because I want to make money moves too. BUT I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT.
I can’t make money moves because I charged my entire semester on my credit card.
I started thinking what can college students do right now to start creating their own money moves with their career. I will break down tips and advice I wish I had a student during my freshman, sophomore, and junior year of college. I am currently a senior and I am trying to figure myself out but I will also include what I have learned so far.
Today’s post is going to be about the recent high school graduates. Hello freshman kids, today is about you.

Look you are already a freshman with no experience.
Freshman + no experience + shy with no career plans = dead fish

So you are now a recent high school graduate. Congratulations, you played yourself. You graduate school to go to a school that is super expensive.
Your resume is most likely empty. EVERYTHING YOU DID IN HIGH SCHOOL DOES NOT COUNT!! HIGH SCHOOL GPA DOES NOT COUNT!! DON”T INCLUDE IT IN YOUR RESUME.
Look you will be assigned projects in class. Put those projects in your resume. Put on your resume that you are a team player and highly responsible.
If you had a project and your whole team sucked. Write that you were in change of x amount of students of the team. Make yourself seem presidential. Also, mention you demonstrated confidence.
Also, start looking at job positions and tailor your resume to it. Or if you do not have the skills for it start thinking how can you gain those skills.
APPLYING FOR POSITIONS
Yes, your summer job was great, working at Auntie Anne’s Pretzel wow the best but think about working in an environment you wish to work at.
Start applying for an internship position or early engagement programs. Also if you do get the position now you can add that to experience on your resume.
If you are interested in oil and gas. BP has an early engagement program. (click for more information on the program). You can gain so much knowledge by being part of a leadership position and get to know recruiters in the program. It has great perks plus other freshmen do apply for the position so why aren't you?
Start researching companies in the field you are interested in. Even if you feel that you are not qualified still apply. What is the worst they can say? Sorry, you are not qualified? I had 20+ of rejection emails back to back. Did I ever see the email of the sales happening at Bath and Body Works? No, because they were filled with rejection letters. BUT ITS OK BECAUSE NOW IM AN INTERN FOR A COSMETIC COMPANY. MADE IT TO MY DREAM INDUSTRY.
Just research and apply, come on you have 1/4 years to go before you finish college. At least try to expose yourself to the corporate or *industry of your dreams* life.
NETWORKING
Join a student organization. Meet the speakers and recruiters, always ask for a business card. Start developing relationships. You don’t want to be that person that meets someone from your dream job and lost the connection with them. Then during your year, you are scavenging to find their business card and trying to figure out if they remember you.
Create a Linkedin and connect, connect, connect!
STUDY GROUPS/ GROUP PROJECTS
In college sometimes you will work by yourself or be part of a team. Start figuring out who is a terrible team member and try to avoid them in future projects. You don’t want to be on a sucky team during of your college career when you knew from the beginning that they work like trash. Honestly.
To end this post. I just want to say please stay true to yourself and don’t act a fool in front of recruiters. Remember “I MAKE MONEY MOVES” that includes trying your best. Even if it is the first semester, try these tips/ advice out because I wish I could of just go back and created a relationship with some recruiters because now I'm struggling and stressing out over applying for jobs.
