They participate in this game without fully knowing the stakes in which the winner can be named. The circus is but the stage for the battle of imagination and stamina. Despite themselves, Celia and Marco fall in love—no matter how hard they try not to. It is a love that is so deep that it is felt in the very energy in the room. Making the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands. Despite their attraction to one another, the game must press on, and the fates of everyone involved hang in the balance until they can find a keeper to hold it all together, so they can let it all go. ✭✭✭✭✭/ 5 This novel solidified Erin Morgenstern as my favorite author. The Night Circus is written in rich,sparkly seductive prose. Deeply descriptive giving vivid imagery. As an adult book, at times, the book was slower paced, but I didn't mind that. Giving me time to sit with the experience and pictures built in my mind, experiencing the beautiful red against the black and white of the reveurs or the stark white of the ice garden. I loved the synergy of Celia and Marco despite her father pushing against her and telling her how much of a disappointment she is. It is the kind of book that you experience over and over. It is easy to lose yourself in the story, going from chapter to chapter, falling deeper into the magic. The characters have depth and are intricate. And their development was stunning. Watching Celia wisen up was so refreshing. I can only hope there will be a sequel. ❔️Have you read The Night Circus? What did you think? If not, would you read it?
