Pictured here is the Orion Nebula, which is likely the most well-known nebula there is. It resides near the belt of the Orion constellation; because of this, the nebula is very easy to locate. One cat, Simon, was given the rank “Able Seacat Simon” after dutifully killing rats and mice that were destroying the HMS Amethyst’s food supplies. The ship had come under fire during the Chinese civil war and many of its crewmen had died. The cat had been gravely injured, too, but he picked out the shrapnel himself – seriously – and went straight to killing the rodents that were overrunning the ship. He unfortunately passed from his injuries two weeks before he was scheduled to receive the Dickin Medal. To this day, he is the only cat to receive this award.

Meet Percy, mascot of HMLS (D20) “Daphne” with Lt Drader. Both survived the War, and Percy retired to live out his peacetime life in the Drader family home.

It’s Official – This Trooper From ‘Return Of The Jedi’ Is Captain Rex

“During the premiere screening of the season finale of Star Wars Rebels Season 2, Dave Filoni joked how Captain Rex could be the gray-bearded Rebel trooper seen in Return of the Jedi as the rebel team attempts to knock out the shield generator on Endor. Some people took Dave’s comments as Dave being Dave – others immediately filed away his comments as official canon and were overjoyed hearing Rex would survive the events that unfolded during the animated series. So which is it – fact or just playful banter by Dave?The question has been answered via this tweet from Rebels writer Steve Melching showing us a look at the Season 4 character model that has been designed for Captain Rex to mimic the look of Endor’s gray-bearded trooper!”
