Thedas Plus Size Appreciation Week

A brief little thing about Cassandra and my alt inquisitor, squishy mage Arthur Trevelyan. If this is a mess please forgive me because I am a bit feverish and my proofreading is probably terrible. ENJOY! 

This is stupid, the blood soaked Arthur Trevelyan’s side. This is stupid and I’m stupid for not saying anything. He was also stubborn. As the leader here, he didn’t want them to know. It was hard enough being a sheltered Circle mage among such hardened fighters. He could do this. “How far to the next camp?” he called, pulling the leather coat closed over the blossoming scarlet stain.

Cassandra nodded across the lush valley. “Just up that hill.” Thank the Maker! He would make it. So long as nothing else-

23th August - Day 2: Self-Esteem and Self-Love

This is from my own retelling on DA:I that I haven’t finished or posted anywhere.

If you really love Vivienne, you may not want to read this. She always disagrees with my mages so I don’t really like her though I totally understand how other people can admire her confidence.

Ethene looked at herself in the mirror. She felt good about the new armor Josephine had commissioned for her. Better than the disaster Vivienne had tried to force her into. They all seemed to agree that the Herald of Andraste need to look the part so it only seemed natural to ask the elegant court mage to help outfit the face of the Inquisition. Ethene was a mage as well.

“Goodnight, Cullen” Ethene shut the door to her small cabin and leaned against it. Her mind was going over all the little details of the last few hours she had spent being taught to fight by Commander Cullen, tall, dreamy, blonde Commander Cullen with a liquid gold voice to match his eyes.

For everyday wear, Ethene prefers things practical, comfortable, and flattering, in that order. No matter how pretty something is or how good she looks in it she wouldn’t wear it if it would interfere with her duties as a healer and Inquisitor. She also rarely wears things that show her upper arms as that is the part of her body she dislikes the most. This means her usual outfit consists of pants tucked into boots and a long sleeve shirt pushed up to her elbows. Probably in a dark or neutral color so as not to attract attention. The easiest way to survive the Ostwick circle for her was to try not to be noticed.

I didn’t really have anything for yesterday, so it’s on to Day 5: Passion for Fashion

So I wish I had the time to draw new sketches of Cressida in some awesome stuff, but that’s life for you!

While in Tevinter she quickly acclimated to the daring fashion there. Lots of skin revealing outfits covered in gold and chains.

While in the Free Marches, before going to the Circle, she tries to cover up more her family I comfortable with the daring Tevinter fashion.

Once in the Inquisition is all about comfort, leather breeches and a blouse replace the voluminous dress she use to wear as a noble. Something she can easily maneuver in just in case.

Day 5: Passion for Fashion

Still working on days 3 and 4, but let’s celebrate our OCs’s sense of fashion:

Demetra Tevelyan has three simple rules in her wardrobe:

- when not in the battlefield, colors, colors and colors! 

- feminine dresses, with delicate embroideries, usually cuts under her breasts

- everyday a new hairstyle

I headcanon the fashion in Ostwick is quite close to the Italian Renaissance’s one, so with precious clothes, but not as big as the Orlesians and a particuar attention for the hair.

Chrissy’s actually more a tweeny than plus size.  Between stores.  Not quite large enough to get fashion from “bigger” lady stores, but too big to shop at regular stores.  Size 14-18 seems like it wouldn’t be hard to find, but you’d be wrong.  She describes herself as boulder boobs and thunder thighs/butt, but does have a waist.  This means that larger BBW say she’s “not big enough” to be plus size, but smaller ladies call her fat.  And 1x is plus sized!  2x in shirts.

Her hair is her joy, though she cut it for a while in grief.  It easily reaches her hips, and spends most of its time in a braid of some kind or tied up in a knot at the back of her head.  Or both.  Several people make efforts to keep it down, including some of the inner circle on occasion.  She spends significant time with them, but her people are really the others.  The servants, the elves, the people milling about.  The ones who do the things that have to be done to keep the Inquisition going.  Those are the people she’s decided to be responsible for.  Since she came through with pointy ears, she understands.  In her mind, the plight of the elves is not dissimilar from the color wars in the 50s and 60s.

She’s a bit of a managing bitch, honestly.  She just can’t leave things to others.  Not a warden, not a hawke, not an inquisitor.  But she has taken over the household of Skyhold and has the inky calling her sis.  She has her own agenda, and it currently runs parallel with the Inquistion.  Corypheus must be stopped, the divine avenged, and the spice must flow, as it were.  She’s sweet, and a bit creepy.  Her sense of justice is a little harsh, yet she’s primarily non-violent.  Orlesian nobles hate it when they are flat out IGNORED.  She won’t tolerate abuse or assault, and you might not get dinner if she finds out you called someone knife-ear.

An MGIT, she has to balance what to say with what not to say.  She’s not the one who should be making the decisions.  Yet she still seems to poke her nose in a bit.  She’s a budding mage, but not something her new best friend Dorian can recognize.  She does things WRONG.  And at the unknowing request of the Inquisitor, she’s going to get the elves together.  Somehow, someway, she’ll beg, borrow, steal, or flat out BUY enough land for them.  The frostbacks, if she has to.

Demetra arched an eyebrow “Then, don’t.”

“The armor, Inquisitor.” Harrit said dryly, rubbing his head “The armor doesn’t fit well. Well, it doesn’t fit at all, it’s too tight. I can’t close it around your torso. I’ll have to enlarge this Orlesian crap, I’m sorry.”.

Demetra couldn’t restrain a laugh. If that was her worst problem during the day, it’d have been a great day.

After looked for a little at Harrit, busy to bicker with Dagna about if putting one of her weird gadget in the Inquisitor’s armor was a good idea or not - it’s a rune, Harritt, c’mon, open your mind, you’re not one of my previous fellows from Orzammar!- , the Inquisitor closed her eyes relaxing hearing the sound of the waterfall, the familiar scent of fire and iron in the forge.
