Care to explain? I can respect that claim and don’t at all argue that colorism is not a problem in general especially in regard to the entertainment industry. I just don’t think her career plateaued because of colorism.

That’s the exact reason why. She’s not light skinned so she’s not “as marketable” and that’s the black ass bottom line. medium/dark skinned females in the industry are overlooked in every way, at every turn. And they could start out successful but they burn out 3x faster than their lightskinned/white counterparts. And you don’t see a direct correlation??? How, Sway???

Let me rephrase. I may have made a generalization based on my own personal preferences and I can admit that that was wrong. I personally, do not like her music or her artistic aesthetic. It has nothing to do with her skin. I simply do not like her sound. However, I can see how colorism may have stifled her career.
