johnlock hours in the way that i can’t stop imagining the afternoon that watson finally gave up and stopped bringing tea. sherlock, brooding and planning to shut him out again, only to keep waiting for watson’s offer of tea that would never come. the immediate relief that he wouldn’t have to sit through the torture of being ‘interrogated’ by watson, the confusion as to why the imposition never came that one afternoon, and finally the dawning realization of the loneliness brewing without john’s presence. and finally, the ultimate decision that he’d have to overcome his mountainous ego to reach out, to stoop down to the most human action of making tea, and to approach watson with an offer of friendship and conversation.
