this is Anna Marie Castillo

shes half black and half filipino (and if we wanna bring up 80s-esque racism then i think shes definitely been called a slur or two but i dont think theyd be. the ones that technically apply to her??? bc i feel mfkrs in bumfuck IN in the 80s is gonna know what a filipino is 🧍🏽‍♀️ like shes def had the thought '1. you shouldnt be calling anyone that but 2. if youre GONNA call me some bullshit at least get it RIGHT 😒' but shes relatively nonconfrontational in hs so no one's actually heard that from her 😔 but also there are the ones that. Are "Right" based on her Other Half which would prob pop up more than the previously described situation) though that said she def wasnt someone who stood out so its not like she was getting all that a LOT at all but its happened once or twice when shes been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time

but that bit of character building lore aside--

shes in the same yr as SH (decided based on my age when ST first came out 🥴) but generally goes unnoticed 🤷🏽‍♀️

smart but not like valedictorian/salutatorian level

shes an only child and lives with her mom, who moved the two of them to hwkns from georgia when her parents split (i wanna say she was young when this occurred, prob btwn 2-4yo?) they ended up there bc hwkns general had openings for nurses and (surprise surprise) her (filipina) mom is a nurse. (her mom had their names changed to her maiden name bc Fk That Guy- her dad had convinced her mom to leave her family behind and move from CA where they met to GA where HIS fam lived and after the split she thought itd be better to keep them out where its cheaper than move back to CA.)

that said, Anna was left alone a lot bc of her mom's work schedule, and she didnt have family who could look after her so- latchkey kid 🥴 she'd really just head to the library and back bc shes a biiiig reader and an even biiiiigger fan of horror (a blessing and a curse since she absolutely used to freak herself out as a kid, especially when she was home alone waiting for her mom to get back from her night shift and kickstarted her own insomnia, but ☝️ when the Weird Shit starts happening shes pretty good at adapting bc of all the different shit shes consumed- and the hypothetical scenarios she used to freak herself out with)

the fit here is the base of the fit i usually imagine her in and id say this would be circa s4/s5? freshman and sophomore years had her trying to blend in more so she stuck with the basic trends, but she'd WANTED to dress more like allison reynolds from the breakfast club (before the makeover) ever since she saw the movie, but its not until after things Get Weird that she finally says 'fuck it' to what people might think n whatnot and starts actually experimenting with her clothes. (she almost ALWAYS has a jacket as part of her outfit, whether she wears it properly or tied around her waist. this fit would have an oversized jacket/coat over it.

was totally a theater kid in highschool, loves musicals and plays but is never cast as the lead (not that she doesnt have the talent/skill for it, but more bc of hwkns high's social hierarchy 🙄) (plus shes an alto so she aint getting leads in musicals bc there are Very Few Alto Leads In Musicals 🫩)

quickwitted, very crafty, NOT super athletic by any means, generally pretty well-liked actually (shes not so much 'invisible' as she is 'a chameleon') so aside from the aforementioned outliers, ppl typically feel pretty neutral or slightly positive abt her but no real strong feelings (aside from her close friends ofc)

like to think she had a part time job at the florist n either was there when SH got the roses for NW or was literally the person who sold them to him 👀 though idk if she stays there after the mall opens 🤔 i kinda think she'd take up a bookstore job 🤔 (though tbh idk if swapping rose thorn pricks for papercuts is the best trade-off... but i guess papercuts can happen anywhere and arent the most common while thorn pricks are definitely situational...)
