Luca knocked on Shelby’s door with a thermos of hot chocolate in his hands. It was closer out now, but the man was still looking forward to spending some time with the woman. He felt that they’d been getting along well the last few months, and Luca was excited to see where things went between them next. He just hoped that she was on the same wavelength as he was. Luca always felt butterflies in his stomach whenever he was around her. It had been a long time since he’d felt this way.

“When I was young I was always convinced that I was going to win the costume contest.” Luca told Shelby as he looked at the costumes all around them. “It is safe to say that this year probably isn’t the year either.” He added as it looked like everyone around was very creative. 

Luca waited patiently in line for some food. He was growing pretty hungry now, and the smells of everything were fumigating around him. "See, if I were smart I would have brought a pre-food snack." He said with a small chuckle to the woman who was standing beside him in line. It had been ages since he's felt this hungry. Luca knew how the seafood festival was, and he should have come prepared. "Yet every year I make the same mistakes."

Verity brought her drink up to meet with her lips, taking a small swing of the red plastic cup in hand, before looking  over at her room mate. “I can’t believe you talked me into this..” She said with a small shake of her head, always having hated anything scary, but Shelby has as always managed to persuade her. She for one knew she needed it. “But I do got to admit, you do look hot in your costume.” She chuckled, “Almost as good as me.” She added with a teasing wink. Verity had decided to either go bold or go home, so to speak, and opted a very daring outfit herself. “It suits you.”
