simply plural is the biggest plural resource without any doubt, and there is no chance apparyllis doesn’t know this. its not just disappointment, they are genuinely taking away a huge point of accessibility for the entire community. i understand this is for their health but it is, at the same time, incredibly irresponsible.

there is no alternative to simply plural. none that have the features it did, the communication it did— there is no option that can completely replace it. so many systems are incredibly stressed because the only options all have fundamental flaws.

right now, the closest option would be moving to multiple apps, which just isn’t feasible for many of us— or moving off apps entirely. i am one of many who will have nowhere to move my data in the case servers shut down. im sure options like journaling or octocon will work for some of us, and that is amazing. i am nothing but happy for those who have solutions. but please consider how the rest of us feel.

we are having our biggest accessible source just… stripped from us. with no thought of finding a team, or at the very least making the app open source. i can’t even begin to imagine how much worse this is for those with hundreds or thousands of members.
